I didnt really find there was anything i didnt love. 

 I never used to be a huge fan of cleansing balms but recently I’ve come across quite a few I’ve enjoyed that have changed my mind on balms. This is one- Urban Jungle’s @urbanjunglebeauty Melt me softly. It’s also perfect texture porn for #texturetuesday! 

This formula is so smooth! Made with chamomile and sunflower seed oil, it is gentle while being strong enough to literally melt my makeup, sunscreen and other dirt from my face without any irritation- just moisturised! There’s no fragrance to it and my skin is left feeling fresh and clean without any tightness or dryness which some balms can leave my skin feeling. This is the first step of Urban Jungle’s simple 4 step skincare regimen which I can’t wait to try the other products from! Urban jungle is a proudly Australian brand (owned and operated) with all products made in Korea from natural ingredients. They are also all vegan and cruelty free and made for all skin types including oily (and pregnant ladies can use it too safely). This cleanser literally sells one tub every 12 minutes which is incredible for a brand less than a year old! Definitely check it out! You’ll love it

Not particularly cheap (although worth it!) and does contain fragrance which may be a problem if you are sensitive 

 I’m currently obsessed with Jelly Ko’s cherry blossom sleeping mask, I’m sharing this beauty today. This mask is so phenomenal! It smells beautiful and I wake up with incredibly glowy and bouncy skin that is all about the jelly skin trend (like seriously I look like a delicious glazed donut in the best possible way!). The texture reminds me of hair gel a bit but it’s lovely and it definitely doesn’t smell like gel! It’s also a lovely translucent pink. 

This mask is loaded with cherry blossom, niacinamide, sodium hyaluronate and panthenol which all soothe irritated skin (which I’ve had lately). This mask is made in Korea and owned by Aussies living in Korea so it’s based on K beauty trends and products. They are cruelty free and this mask doesn’t contain any nasties like parabens, silicones, alcohol or phthalates. The ingredients are also clinically proven!

I dont like that this contains alcohol and fragrance. Had slight irritation and didnt notice significant changes but will keep using to see in the long term if there is. 

TONER is one of those skincare steps I’ve always been a bit ambivalent about as I’ve always found them to be quite stripping for my skin. As a result I’ve not tried a lot of toners when compared to perhaps how many cleansers or serums I’ve tried. I was excited to explore toners a bit more recently when Coxir’s Vita C Bright Toner arrived. 

Loaded with niacinacide, vitamin E and C, hyaluronic acid and green tea, this toner is designed to brighten, even tone the skin and reduce redness as well as hydrate. This is a great one if you have oily skin but worked quite well on my combo skin without making drier areas more drier. I don’t know how much brighter it made my skin to be honest but it didn’t irritate it terribly. 

This toner is acne and reef safe and made without any common allergens, parabens, silicones or sulfates however it does contain fragrance which is quite strong and may be a turn off for a lot of people or cause sensitivity in some. It also contains quite a lot of alcohol which id really prefer if it didn’t. It claims it’s great for hyperpigmentation although I don’t have any areas that were noticeably altered. I’ll definitely keep using to see if this changes in the long term. 

Texturally it is quite watery and does not leave a sticky or tacky finish. It does absorb well.

Might not be sufficient enough for super dry skin types 

A COUPLE OF WEEKS BACK, something that rarely happens happened to me. I got sunburnt! I am very fastidious about applying sunscreen every day and I didn’t forget this day either but I was busy and did not reapply and was testing out a newer one in my collection. Needless to say I was not impressed with it! I was only mildly burnt on my forehead but knew just the product to reach for to calm this skin- Dear, Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream. 

This cream is my go-to when my skin is irritated or the barrier is broken down because it’s so nourishing and calming! On immediate application it soothes and gets repairing right away. It’s a rich, dreamy blue shade and perfect for all skin types but especially sensitive or irritated skin. The main ingredient in this is called Guaiazulene which is a chamomile extract with anti-inflammatory properties and gives the cream it’s blue hue (that disappears on skin absorption). It also contains glycerin to lock hydration in, centella and Shea butter for repairing skin and peptides to support collagen production for that youthful look and feel. It absorbs quickly, leaves no finish and doesn’t leave any residue or tackiness. I also found it plays well with my other skincare and didn’t pill. Less is more with this one too and a little does go a long way which means it lasts well. I love using this one in the day or when my skin is irritated as it’s light and relaxing. I can also say it definitely reduced the redness I had with my sunburn and kept my skin smooth and supple. Overall a brand I love and a must have this summer for those burns! 

I didht really find anything bad about it but I also don’t have a lot of pigmentation to see any effect on so can’t comment on that 

DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE SKINCARE INGREDIENT? One of mine is the ever calming Centella/Cica! And most recently I’ve used it in Skin1004’s @skin1004official Madagascar Centella tone brightening capsule ampoule. This has an interesting texture (swipe to see) In that it has the capsules suspended which burst during application. It’s also my first time trying something from this brand. 

Another star ingredient in this serum is Niacinamide, which calms redness and inflammation as well as repairing a compromised skin barrier. These two ingredients make it a great product for acne prone or sensitive, like mine, skin. This product also features tranexamic acid which is used to brighten the skin and 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid a Vitamin C derivative that has higher stability. 

Overall, This is one calming and soothing serum that my skin has loved. Instantly moisturising, it’s smoothed my skin and become the product I turn to when my skin is having a freak out. It’s easily absorbed and not sticky or tacky- my skin was beautifully hydrated although I don’t know if it brightened my skin. I would definitely repurchase this one and hope to explore more from this brand as it’s been a wonderful introduction
