My skin went through a really bad patch last week for no apparent reason. It got inflamed and red and angry. I had red bumpy spots on the right side of my face and they were just angry and inflamed. It wasn't pretty at all. Very coincidentally and timely, a few days before, I had just received my picky giveaway rewards of Skin1004 centella ampoule as well as TM Vita B3 source. I decided that this was the best time to put these 2 products to the test.

What you see below is my 'before and after' pictures. The difference is not super drastic, but bear in mind that this is less than five days. The photos are completely unfiltered, and no touch ups. What you can't see very clearly from the photos is that the after 'picture' my skin is smooth and glassy, there are no more bumps at all.

I've just started on this journey of skincare reviews, after discovering Korean skincare this year (I know, so late to the game right?!). And whilst I think my written reviews are pretty ok (insta @summersong0708), I know my pictures are not.

If there's anything 'bad', it's that they are bigger than regular hydrogel patches and might not fit easily around the eyes   

🌹 What is it?

💖 My experience 
These hydrogels are gorgeous and sparkly and smell subtly of rose. Just the experience of using them is amazing in itself. I put them in the fridge and on application, my eyes instantly feel refreshed and relaxed. The essence is generous in this one and it stays moist even up to half an hour. When I remove them, I gently pat the essence in and I can see the obvious brightening effect as well as how it moisturizes the delicate eye area to blur out the fine lines. I'm addicted to them and have already purchased another set on my own! 

The Dr.Ceuracle Kombucha Tea Essence is a bi-phase toner formulated with 780,000ppm kombucha tea extract (vegan tea complex) to balance skin’s oil-water levels, provide deep hydration and strengthen the skin barrier. This toner gives our skin a thorough detox due to the fermentation and creates a healthy skin biome. Rich in probiotics and Vitamin B, the kombucha extract helps to strengthen the skin and prevent the damaging effects of oxidation while balancing hydration. It also contains Camellia sinensis leaf (green tea) water makes up 58.9% and Schisandra chinensis fruit (omija) extract, both powerful antioxidants, further hydrate and protect. Sunflower seed oil aids in a supple glow. 

My Experience
I didn’t expect to fall in love with this toner. I mean, yes, it has great ingredients and so much raving reviews. But I don’t like watery toners, I never have and I never will. I need my toners to have a body and preferably be thick. But this toner, this toner is my one exception to the rule. From the moment I received it and saw the beautiful eco packaging, to holding the heavy frosted glass bottle, to seeing the beautiful bi-phase colours (reminds me of milk tea and I LOVE milk tea) to watching it blend together when shaken; the whole experience has been gorgeous. But there was still that watery texture I didn’t fancy. So with no expectations, I applied it for the first time to my face. And that immediate glow it gave me - with just one layer - as a toner - is just outstanding. I’ve never experienced a glow from a TONER before. EVER. And that was it. I fell in love. It’s now a staple in my routine and will be a constant repurchase.

Fun fact: With fermentation, substances are broken down in the presence of bacteria, creating a healthy microbiome for our skin. The benefits are increased potency, increased penetration, and increased preservation of the product. 

It's not a bad thing per se but i like my body products beautifully scented so for this to be unscented missed its mark for me.

🤎 Klairs Daily Comfort Hand Cream is a no fuss hand cream to keep your hands moisturized. It is a simple cream texture that isn't too thick and absorbs fast when applied. Best of all, it doesn't leave behind any stickiness. It comes in a large bottle with a pump, which is super convenient. It has the same lovely aesthetics as its handwash. 

I haven't encountered anything negative about this to date.

The hydrating factor in this serum rivals that of the HA serum plus it's got all that anti-aging goodness coupled with it. The ingredients list boasts a long list of different peptides to keep my skin bouncy and elastic. It feels like silk on skin, so smooth on application. It truly is the smoothest serum I have used. It plumps up my skin and blurs fine lines because of that. Truly a HG for my aging skin.

Always read rave reviews about this, but never got a chance to try it until now. Have to say, it certainly lives up to its reputation.

Dear, Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream has the loveliest hue. Perfect for sensitive skin, it soothes and hydrates. The natural blue-coloured formula combines soothing Centella Asiatica Extract and Guaiazulene to calm redness and irritation. Use it on the whole face or as a spot treatment on irritated areas. It is great for after sun exposure or in my case after laser treatments as it's gentle and soothing enough.
