I'm using Aveeno's skin relief oat moisturiser and it has petroleum further down the list of ingredients. I know pertroleum is pretty occlusive, but I was wandering if using Manyo's rosehip oil after the moisturiser would still be beneficial? Or would it be a waste? I've always prefered applying facial oils after moisturiser, not before, which is why I'd like to know if I should change that.

Hey all, I'm 23 and looking for eye creams that are geared towards PREVENTION of wrinkles/fine lines etc (obviously you can't prevent these so the better term would be to prolong my current skin health but anyways you get what I'm tryna say whahaah). Also I have genetically hollow eye sockets so I'm wary about what I put there.

I'm guessing retinol would be a key ingredient. What would you guys recommend? Thank you <3

Preventative eye creams

Hi all, I've gone through the discussion posts here and from there I've gathered sunscreens that I plan to try, like Australian Gold Tinted sunscreen and Supergoop Mattescreen SPF40. I was wondering if there are any other suggestions besides these two because the first one isn't sold in my country and the second one might be a bit too light-colored for my skin. I was planning to have a go at Dr.G's brightening sunscreen but someone said it might not be suitable for dry skin.

I'm looking for a sunscreen that is tinted (I'm olive skinned) and also leaves a matte/velvet finishing, like a good makeup base. I have skin that's a bit dry in some areas so sunscreens usually look good on me for around 4 hours before they form dry patches and turn me into a prune 😐 

I do use a good moisturizer (Aveeno) and even seal it in with rosehip oil, so I think my skin is mainly dry because I'm taking spironolactone. Anyway, any help for the sunscreens is appreciated!

Tinted matte sunscreen for dry skin

I seriously dislike the dropper design, it&#39;s tilted at the end so it&#39;s difficult to get the contents out of the bottle (I literally have to pump multiple times just to get two drops out)

10% niacinimide concentration that doesn&#39;t cause breakouts on my skin, can definitely see some brightening eventhough I&#39;ve only used it for a week. Has a nice lightweight texture that&#39;s not too runny.

I could see, after just a few months of use, that my skin became a lot bouncier/thicker/less dull-looking. It's proven that tretinoin is fantastic for maintaining/producing collagen for the skin...IF you use it long-term. However I originally bought it just for acne control which did not help much since my acne was hormonal. I knew this was a great product though since it made my skin look great even WITH acne AHAHA

What's important is that you NEED to know how to apply this product properly. You can't just slap half the contents of the tube onto your face and call it a night because that will damage your skin barrier. I've experimented with multiple ways to apply tretinoin and my tip would be to always use a moisturiser on your face first, and then apply a small amount of tretinoin onto your skin (all over) EXCEPT YOUR UNDEREYE AREA. DON'T PUT IT UNDER YOUR EYES EVER because it can cause excessive dryness. Applying moisturiser won't affect tretinoin's potency so don't worry about that! Also, ALWAYS use sunscreen during the daytime to prevent the benefits of tretinoin from being flushed down the toilet. There's no point using a product that tackles hyperpigmentation and skin longevity if you're gonna let the sun ruin all your progress the next day.

What's such a bonus for a university student like me with a tight budget is that over here in Malaysia, this product is super cheap and affordable. Plus, since you only need to use a small amount of it in a week, a single tube can last years.

My most favourite sunscreen so far because of how it makes my skin look and feel. It leaves a matte finish so my skin doesn't look/feel oily but at the same time, my skin still looks dewy and with the right amount of gloss. It works for my darker skin tone (I've got an olive complexion). Another cool thing is that because of the mattifying effect, I use it as a primer/foundation base whenever I apply foundation on areas of my skin that have hyperpigmentation. I also REALLY like the texture of this sunscreen because it's not too watery/runny/light and not too thick and creamy either - I'd describe it as smooth and slightly dense. Also doesn't wipe off that easily if you touch or swipe your face.

Loveeeee it leaves my lips hydrated and soft and even has a nice red-colored tint to it, pretty good lip balm and has spf protection too!

I use this as an occlusive moisturizer to seal in all the ther serums I use beforehand. Has a great creamy texture that's thick enough but not heavy. It makes my skin feel so smooth. Great for sleeping in an air-conditioned room with because it's dense enough to prevent moisture-loss (I personally use a lightweight oil after applying this moisturizer to REALLY seal everything in but I doubt that's necessary for most people)
