Are there any skin care products in a bar form or that come in a recyclable package?  
It's hard to recycle plastic where I live, so I've been trying to research various products that have better packaging.
However, I haven't had any luck finding skin care products that are also good for your skin.

Products that are better for the Environment?

Thinking about your favorite skin care product, how did you first find it?  Did you read reviews in the Picky app, receive it as a gift, see it in store, or was there another reason you tried it?

How did you find your favorite brand?

I currently just use Dove soap at night to wash my face.  I'll wear an SPF moisturizer if I plan to be in the sun a while.  My skin doesn't really have any problems; it's just a little dull and starting to get drier with the winter months.

But between dealing with kids and no sleep (!) 😞, I just really haven't given any thought to a skincare routine.

What products would you recommend starting with?  How many do you use every day?  I'm not familiar with a lot of these newer brands, but I'm interested in reading more about it.

This mild cleanser 
🌲cleans, 
🌲controls oil, 
🌲exfoliates, 
🌲reduces inflammation, and 
🌲restores ph balance (a lot of benefits!).  

It contains tea tree and dandelion extracts.  The texture is a thick cream.  It has no added fragrance, but it does have a tea tree scent.  This product is most recommended for oily, combination, or sensitive skin types.

I only needed a pea size amount to rub in between my hands.  The cleanser formed a light, airy lather and was easy to wash my face with.  My skin felt clean and a little soft afterwards.  For summer months, I feel like I really don't need a moisturizer afterwards when using this.  It definitely lives up to the "mild" in its name, since my skin did not have any redness or tightness. 

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the results and how well it works.  I would say it's definitely one of the top cleansers I've used in the last year.

The tube is really hard to squeeze each time.  
I think the fragrance is unnecessary.
It's not ideal for summer or humid climates, so I really want to try using this in the winter.

The VVBETTER 5.5 Soothing Cleansing Foam is a cleanser with a pH of 5.5 (hence, the name) in a 4.06 oz tube.  It leave skin feeling clean while maintaining the natural moisture balance.  

The cleanser contains the following ingredients good for oily skin: 
🫧tea tree - skin conditioning and 
🫧white willow extract - soothing and conditioning.

There is added fragrance, but I couldn't figure out the scent; maybe a combination of the tea tree scent and something else.  

The tube was a little hard to squeeze, since the cleanser is a thick paste.  I think about an inch of the product is sufficient.  Surprisingly, after rubbing it in my hands with water, it formed a soft foam.  It was very easy to wash my face with it and rinse it off.  

My skin not only felt clean, but I was really impressed with how smooth and soft it felt as well.  I'm kind of curious how this will work in drier months, since it seems to provide decent moisturation.  

⭐It left a layer of slightly greasy residue on my face when I used a little too much.  It just made my face feel a little oily.  One pump was sufficient, so start with that before you try to add more.  I know you generally want to apply sunscreen a little thicker, but you can't do that with this serum.  

Also, it says you can use it on your arms and legs, but the container is so small.  I think you'll go through this very quickly if you do that.

 ⭐The Madagascar Centella Hyalu-cica Water-Fit Sun Serum is SPF50+ and made with pure centella from Madagascar.  The container holds 1.69 oz. and has a pump with lid.  The texture is a white cream that is easy to spread.  Since it is thin enough, the white color is not noticeable after applying like other sunscreens can be. The sun serum did not irritate my skin at all or cause any redness.

⭐The Madagascar Centella Hyalu-cica Sleeping Pack is in a tube and contains hyalu-cica and melatonin to provide hydration while you sleep.  The texture is an opaque, gel that was easy to spread and absorbed fast.  I used about a pea size amount for my entire face, since the directions said to apply a thin layer.  In the morning, my skin felt very soft, so I was impressed with how quickly this worked. No irritation on my skin at all.  

I'm not sure that I noticed any decrease in the oil production on my skin or the pores shrinking any.  Maybe you have to use it for a few weeks?  But I like it as a deep cleaning cleanser though.

I received 🌸SKIN1004's Madagascar Centella Poremizing Deep Cleansing Foam🌸 for free from Picky and SKIN1004 in exchange for my honest review.


The cleansing foam contains pure Centella from Madagascar, which is derived from the Centella Asiatica plant and has many benefits, including restoring your skin's moisture barrier and reducing signs of aging by providing antioxidants.  In addition, for oily skin, two beneficial ingredients are lemon fruit extract (conditioning) and kaolin (abrasive, for deep cleaning). 

The cleanser comes in a 125 ml tube, which is a good size and larger than other cleansers.  

I used a pea size amount and got a good lather when it was mixed with water in my hands.  It created a thick, somewhat heavy foam, but this was easy to wash my face with. It didn't quite rinse off as fast as other cleansers I've used.  However, it did not leave a residue at all, and my skin felt completely clean after rinsing it off.  

The "deep cleaning" is very accurate in the name, and I appreciate that it didn't cause any redness, irritation, or tightness.
