I was watching the latest 
 Lab Muffin Beauty video  on 5 Skincare Myth and I am definitely guilty but at the same I think I am learning. 

I once  used BHA twice a day because that was what Paula Choice said, another holy queen we follow but then she did say up to twice a day and it depends on your skin and routine instead of saying flat out about the rule. 


I once used Vit C twice a day too. 

I once tried to use almost everything twice a day until my skin barrier was ruined

It is something I definitely follow and guide myself when giving advice here, if it works for me, it may or may not work for you because I don’t know your routine or what else you use or what your skin conditions is. 

The general consensus for advice  is “this is the X amount of time and concentration you should use”

however it should always end with depending on how your skin feels afterwards.

GUILTY FOR OVERUSAGE OF ACTIVES!

So 1/2 teaspoon is roughly 2.5ml. This is basically the amount it was recommended to use for your face and neck when you apply suncreen. 

Many sunscreen contains 50ml which means you have about 20 applications per bottle. 

Many of you say you would wear sunscreen in like 3 finger amount so that it would meets the reccomended amount. 

You also say you apply multiple times a day even indoors. 

So if you apply once a day, the bottle would last you 20 days. If you apply twice a day, the bottle would last you 10 days. 

So does this mean you buy 3 sunscreen each month or 36 bottles a year?

Is my math wrong? Am I being petty? Please allow me be wrong and petty if I am because our “lockdown” in Malaysia has no end in sight (almost 2 years of on and off of various partial lockdown and I am trying to keep my sanity)

So this is my order list from Picky from the first time I joined. I joined relatively early on when Picky first started. 

My sister told me to join and she also won a few giveways. It was fun and I like the posts from professionals (docs, derms) at Picky. 

It changes from now then. Some people that were active in the beginning, simply are not here anymore while some I do see pop in and out. Most of them had a thriving skin care account while me?

Literally just a personal blog for Ig but Picky still gave me a chance. It reminded me back when Blogging was a thing and I won a lot of movie tickets. 

I am still here. Probably helps that I work in a museum so answering Picky is like second nature. 

How did I win? 

Things that matter. 
Being active in discussion is key like literally saying something valuable. Location matters too. Gender? Maybe or maybe not since skincare doesn’t need gender. Age might play a factor in their decision since certain products are used by certain group while certain age  group will have friends that have greater access to money to buy their stuff. 

Things that don’t matter. 

Your followers on social media and how much they interact. Most of my post doesn’t really get that much like except for that one sunscreen video that got more than 10k of replays which is wild for me. But like whatever the brands can take my review and paste it on their website. No issues there for me personally.

My Order List from Picky Giveway

Well it finally arrived, the Skin1004 giveway. It’s definitely has been my my mind lately and I am happy it has arrived. I can’t wait to try this trio of cleanser, sunscreen and sleeping mask. It is basically a complete simple 3 step routine. Nice.

Meaning it’s fragrance free and made for dryer skin

More like I can’t. So it stays home instead of going on trips with me unless it’s a long trip. 

This won’t be my first choice in Skin1004 range of cleanser. First is myristic acid. It is a fine surfactant but it produce a dense foam which I no longer prefer for my skin. if you have oily skin this is good surfactant to try. If your skin is normal dry to dry, it can feel drying. This cleanser is right at the threshold on feeling dry for me. 

I tried using it twice a day and feel it’s definitely not for my skin type. I believe two stubborn pimple pop out in experience of using this. 

My normal to dry skin would much prefer SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Tone Brightening Cleansing Gel and Madagascar Centella Ampoule Foam.

After using for significantly longer time, I grew to love the cleanser for my maskne (acne at chin) speck ne (acne around the sides where my spectacles are) and hairne (acne at hair line). This face wash work well for me and I use it once or twice a week at night. 

This is a cleanser with BHA, tea tree and Centella (Cica). It was designed for acne-prone and trouble skin. This cleanser claim to remove excess sebum secretion, dead akin cells and pore waste gentle. 

I like how refreshing it smells when I clean my face. 

I would use this in PM routine as a second cleanse after my balm/oil cleanser but won’t add it too cart.

It’s not very long lasting, after a few hours the oils on my skin dissolves the blush. While heaven forbids if you drink anything, it also comes off. Maybe it’s regular thing but I am very new to the world of blush

I am both thankful and amused that Picky once again trust me with another honest review of their products. I thought feet pics was wild with the callus remover set (great set btw) but now 2 lip and cheek product along with two lip gloss? Oh my. As a person who doesn’t really wear makeup, what can I do. Why wear on stage as a Emcee is national competition of course!

FWEE Pudding Pot is a multi use product that can be used on the lips and also cheeks. It versatile enough to be use every in the face that you want to highlight like eyes, nose and jawline. I received RS1 Feel’n Rose Coral. For my skin tone Maybelline Soft Tan 228, RS1 Feel’n looks the most natural on my skin because coral shade just works for me. I don’t have to blend so much. When trying to go for a natural sunburn look, this was great. I wore this particular shade on stage and it looked pretty good and natural. However on my lips it made it looked a bit pale  and muted. 

I applied using their silicone brush which is not a brush per say but a soft cushy silicone sponge in a surface size of a finger. Great tool if you don’t want to transfer too much product on your fingers or get product on it.


The Foot File is too fine for me, I have a bigger rougher cheese grater looking one that does the job better for my feet but I am scared to use it with the lactic acid spray. haha. I will try it later.


Ohh I was excited and nervous about getting feet and nail products because, I have such ugly digits but I am going go through it for you guys

First we have the 1-minute Callus Remover Kit for Feet: Foot File and Peeling Foot Spray. As the name suggest this set comes with a foot spray and foot file. You spray the Peeling Foot Spray, leave a minute and go over with the foot file. Shockingly to me, it was very easy. The foot spray is grapefruit scented (my favourite scent) and lactic acid spray. Suprisingly, no grape fruit extract but they're other plant extrats suchs as Japanese pepper, Wild yam, Cabbage, red pine, common yarrow, green tea, eucalyptus, peony, ginger, Tomorrow leaf, and rice. The combination of the plant extracts with pine and other fragrance made me thing this was grapefruit. After spraying and leaving one minute, my harden skin became soft and it was so easy to file, immediately dead skin was filed off. The Foot File itself has a bumpy rough side for my ugly and a softer smooth side to finish filing. I only stick with the rough side of the file because of my feet condition. Afterwards, my feet still felt soft. Since this is a lactic acid spray, the exfoliation will continue for a few days after, which is nice. I am definitely rating the spray a 5 star

Other than its just 50ml, common for a lot of sunscreen, I find it hard to fault this. 

This is definitely one of the sunscreen I would easily wear on a daily basis.

Light texture but not drying. 

This formula does not sting my eyes

A good sunscreen where you can just slap on and go!  

It’s filled with calming ingredients like centella extraxt and the packaging is eco friendly. It looks and feel like cardbordy wax. 

This would be one of the sunscreens I would get again

What I don't like
It does go on thick on the lips, as lip gloss should? so a mirror is a must, this is not as forgivable as a tinted lip balm that I used.

I don't really use Lip Gloss because it's lip gloss and it's hard for me to use it in society without getting judged. However this is definitely something forgivable to wear. It has solid packaging with a long wand and relatively big and soft brush. It goes on relatively well on my lips. You can control the gloss with how much coating you apply. I chose the Newtro Coral because I found out peachy lip shade looks natural for my skin tone.

What I like
I like that if you apply just one coat or dab a little, it gives you a pop of color without being too noticeable. Which is great if you prefer the no makeup makeup look.
