Thrifted Beauty?!?!?!

I know that there are a lot of products with fruit at the forefront of their ingredient lists. I know glow recipe has a lot and I’m from does as well. I kind of want to explore the benefits of fruits and fruit extracts. Any suggestions?

Suggestion for Fruit Based Skincare?

Does anyone have any good CBD/Hemp Oil focused skincare products? I have been using the Banana OG Hemp Crème from Not Pot and loving it, but it’s not right for my face. I want to find a product based in that ingredient for my face.

What’s an old favorite skincare product that you tried YEARS AGO, and still has a spot in your skincare routine? 

Mine is the Purito Centella Serum and the Klairs Fresh Cleansing Oil. I tried them years ago and I always go back to them!

What are some brands in the skincare space that you believe deserve more credit? Whether it be their interesting formulations, their environmental practices, etc. let us know! 

Of course where there is the underrated there is the overrated! What brands get too much hype? Get too much unwarranted praise? 

I’ll go first. My underrated brand: Good Molecules! With prices similar to the inkey list and the ordinary, they provide a wide range of products for varying needs and break down EVERY SINGLE ingredient and their percentages in their products! My overrated brand: biossance! While I think it can be beneficial for some people, the only flagship ingredients to this brand are squalane and tea tree oil, maybe bakuchiol. But all theee are relatively inexpensive so it seems extremely overpriced to me, as well as at a concentration that can be irritating to those affected by essential oils.

The one caveat is the amount of waste it produces at the end but if you use this as a treat it is definitely something you could pamper yourself with without putting too much waste to the environment.

This is my most interesting sheet mask I have EVER put on my face! It’s clay! No serious it’s a clay sheet mask! It has film on either side to keep the bentonite and kaolin based clay mask in tack. You pull away the one side of the film and fit it to your face, then peel the other side off once it’s laid correctly on your face. The fit of this mask was wonderful! 

You know when you use a clay mask it could take a while to distribute the clay evenly. Sometimes you put too much on and it takes forever to dry. This mask eliminates both of those issues. It gives you the right amount of clay, distributed evenly, and almost dried evenly.

It sometimes doesnt mesh well with thick moisturizers so you have go wait a little longer than usual between routine products.

This abosolutely changed my skin! This was the first chemical exfoliant I triend and my skin thanked me for it! It has a low but effective percentage of AHA (glycolic acid) at 5%, making it great for beginners. It helps my congested skin recover after a long week.

It’s a little too thick for me, even in the winter, and it leaves behind in the morning that kind of film you can get on your skin. This would serve as a really expensive hand cream if I were to use it till it’s completion, but I am giving it to a friend with dry dry skin so they may have some luck with it and so it doesn’t go to waste. 

It is formulated well, just not for me. I would love to keep trying Haruharu products, because I want to support them! Im just saddened this isn’t the product I can 100% Stan. 

I was immediately drawn to it being unscented and has an ingredient list conducive to those with sensitive skin (just as the label says). But that’s where the benefits for my skin end. 


This didnt really work for my face at all, it was super drying and didnt really allow for daily use on my skin as advertised. It also smelled very odd, like metallic alcohol (if thats a thing)

Have you tried this as a deodorant?!!!! If not you should!!!!! This exfoliated my underarms, lightened them, and limited smell!!!!!

Im allergic to squalane, this was the product that solidified my discovery of that allergy so I was itchy and irritated throughout the day even after washing it off.

Has a definite bouncy texture but still stays true to the water cream claim. Has soothing ingredients good for combo skin in the winter and dry skin.
