The only moisturizer I can think of is from CeraVe but I’d like to try something new.

This SPF came as a compact in the Picky box. I’ve never used it before but I soon realized it’s way too difficult to use the puff it came with so I just started digging into the product with my finger to make it easier to apply. The thing is, every time I dig up the sunscreen to apply to my face, it’s starts forming droplets all over. I’m not sure what to do about this or why it’s happening to the formula. 😬

Hi everyone, in the dermatology section of one of my classes we learned that Chemical UV filters have been described as endocrine disruptors, which affect reproduction and development by altering reproductive and thyroid hormones. 

For example: Oxybenzone exposure —> shorter pregnancies in women carrying male fetuses and one found lower birth weights in baby girls

I wear SPF religiously and this kind of shook me up a little. I’m not a fan of physical SPF filters, so does anyone have any insight on this topic? It’s not gonna deter me from applying SPF daily. I do mainly use Korean SPF so hopefully there are more strict regulations which prevent this from occuring.

Chemical UV filters = Endocrine Disruptors? 😅

A tinted SPF is preferable but I don’t know of many. The Elta MD tinted SPF used to be my favorite but it’s too pricey 😅

Are there any affordable tinted moisturizers or SPFs on the market?

I miss those! They used to have summer SPF boxes too and I always saved up for them as a gift to myself but I haven’t seen any new picky boxes in a while now? 

Does anybody on the picky team have an info or have they already addressed this?

Is Picky still doing Picky Boxes?

Because it is so sticky, my hair always ends up getting stuck in the mask. I find that if I use this right after I shower it makes it easier to wash off because I don’t mind getting my hair wet this way. 

The Hydrop Sweet Gel mask is marketed as a mask that can be used to boost hydration while also improving skin texture and complexion. Natural humectant Glucose, Betaine, and Squalane replenish the skin with moisture while Gluconolactone (PHA) helps even skin tone and gently exfoliates. For those with sensitive skin, this product is also essential oil free, fragrance free, and vegan! 

I’ve really enjoyed incorporating this mask into my routine on days where I want to wind down. Upon squeezing it out, the mask itself is quite thick and sticky, but it applies evenly onto the skin. It may be because the mask reminds me of honey, but to me it also kind of smells like it too! It’s not an offensive smell and doesn’t linger while you’re waiting for the mask to absorb. 

This mask is unique because most hydrating masks sink into the skin, but this one actually starts getting tacky the longer it sits on your skin. This doesn’t make it difficult to wash off though, which is what I was initially worried about. 

So far, I have no complaints using this. I don’t think it’s changed my life but its one of those things I use on self care days to make myself feel better.

This cleanser is made of 100% plant derived ingredients. The main ingredient, yam root, is meant to moisturize the skin without compromising the skin barrier. I think this was meant to be used as a first cleanse, but I use it as a second cleanse instead. I love that the texture is thin and lotion like. It reminds me of one of my all time favorite cleansers- the La Roche posay hydrating cleanser. This does a great job at cleansing my skin without making it feel dry and I would definitely recommend! 

I purchased this eye cream for around ~$40 because it claimed to reduce fine lines around the eye using 0.02% retinal. Not only that, but it combines Niacinamide for brightening and other anti-aging peptides. This formula is packed with lots of actives, but is very gentle because it also uses skin conditioning ingredients like cholesterol and shea butter. 

Although this claims to be for the neck area as well, I’ve never used it there because I don’t feel like this would last long at all if I did. I’ve been using it strictly for the eye area and it’s lasted me 6 months now, so I can definitely say you get your moneys worth. 

In terms of results, it’s hard to say. I thought by now I’d notice a major difference but I honestly don’t. I have some pretty deep creases in my under eyes so I think I’m just going to have to bump up the strength of my eye cream and incorporate some laser treatments. I enjoy all the other aspects of this product though, from the ingredients to the creamy texture! 

The texture of this moisturizer is SUPER stringy. Because of that, it takes a little longer to work around it. It does come with a little spatula to make it a little easier to pick up, but I still prefer to dip my fingers. I would prefer this come in a pump bottle!

As you can see from the video I provided, this moisturizer is very unique in texture. I was super excited to try it out and it did not disappoint. This formula is perfect for oily skin! I wanted to see how this performed on its own so I used it only on dry skin a couple times. A little bit goes a long way and it does take a little longer to blend due to the stringy-ness, but the moisturizer itself is lightweight and not sticky. It’s fast absorbing making it the perfect base before applying my sunscreen. It does have a very light spa scent, but I don’t mind it.

This SPF is everything I wanted the sun cream to be. Its lightweight, gel texture, nonfragranced, and nonsticky. The formula is hydrating and is a perfect replacement for moisturizer for those with oily skin! Oh, and no white cast either. This barely takes any effort to blend in which I appreciate.
