I’ve been using a tretinoin and tranexamic acid compounded cream once a week. I’m looking for a calming and hydrating facial moisturizer to use with it, something that helps soothe the slight itch/tingle after the tretinoin compound is applied. I’m going very slow in my retinol routine and would love some  recommendations for an accompanying moisturizer. Thank you!

As much as I love centella and have tried all different products with it, I find that it doesn’t do anything for my skin. I have dry, resilient, melanated skin with a few dark spots.

I’m looking to try a new cleansing balm that has good reviews and feedback. I have combination-to-dry skin. What are some of your favorite cleansing balms and what do you like about them?

What is your fav cleansing balm?

This lip tint is so bright and lovely but not overwhelmingly red. It applies smoothly with the brush and stays put for the most part. It is not transfer proof so be aware of that. It is more of a glossy finish rather than matte.

There’s nothing negative about this mascara, I have no complaints. 

 I absolutely love the lash princess mascara from Essence cosmetics. This is an every day mascara that really pops my lashes, by creating length, curl, and volume in one shot. It has a conical shaped fiber brush that coats my lashes with thin layers so I can build up the mascara as much as I want. There is no clumping or globs when I put it on my lashes. It does not flake or fade. This is one of my all-time favorite mascaras! And at such an affordable price point, I always have it in my makeup pouch.

The packaging was a little difficult to dispense from, because the sun cream is a little liquidy, and comes out really fast. 

This fragrance free, non-comedogenic SPF 50+ sun cream is formulated for sensitive skin and helps to calm and cool the skin during and after sun exposure. As you can see from the application, there is absolutely no white cast.

It is a very lightweight, has a light dewy finish, and is very hydrating. It does not leave a sticky or tacky feeling on the fingers, and there is no oily film after application.

 I felt like it had a slightly sticky film at the end of application, but I was able to pat it away. 

Another great serum from Purito, this deep sea droplet serum contains a marine complex that hydrates and nourishes the most dry of skin like mine. 

This serum is truly a marine powerhouse containing capsules rich in snow mushroom that help transform dry skin into bouncy skin. 

After cleansing and toning, I take 2 to 3 pumps of the serum into my hand and apply to the face and neck. I lightly massage it in circular motions to burst the hydration capsules. I end with gently patting my skin to aid in absorption of the serum. 

This serum is great for layering purposes too.


I wish this was suitable for my dry and dehydrated skin type! 

This was such a fun textured wash to try! I love that it is a powder wash, which means I can take it with me when I’m traveling without having to worry about the size of the liquid that I’m bringing in my carry-on bag. As you can see from the video, a little bit of water made it lather up beautifully! The cleansing crystals dissolved almost immediately, so it did not feel like I was rubbing a harsh exfoliator on my skin. I love that it is suitable for both combination and oily skin types, although it would not quite work as well for my dry skin type.
