Hey lovelies, so I have completed my 15 day skin routine to see if what I bought to tackle my acne would work and I am beyond impressed. Now that acne is gone, I want to tackle the acne scars and maybe hyperpigmentation. Can you please suggest something that you have had success with and you feel would work for me? 

Just brief info, I am a black woman living in the Philippines, so products should atleast be accessible 🙏🏽. And also if you can suggest what part of the routine to add your suggestions, that would be great. 

At the moment this is what I have in my arsenal. I know I have two toners but I use the cica one in the morning and the AHA/BHA/PHA one in the evening. I am looking to add a chemical exfoliant but urgh I am scared of just purchasing outright cos i don’t want to get fake products.

Are there brands that you can recommend that would be economical for the entire body too?

Most of the products I see are barely enough for the face alone before you run out, can you recommend a brand that contains products for brightening, aging and hyperpigmentation I can buy and use for my entire body that would not cost me an arm and a leg 🤣🤣🤣

On May 15, 2021 I started a new skin care routine because I am having a crazy amount of acne not just on my face but now extended to my clevage and some parts of my back but most especially my face makes me self conscious. 

This will be a 2-week review to see if these products would atleast tackle my acne issue first then we can talk about Hyperpigmentation and the acne scars afterwards. 

So far, I am impressed, the Luxe Organix Miracle Soap is so awesome, I love how it really cleans my skin, easily! Cica Toner has a calming effect although I don’t feel that too much. Some By Mi AHA-BHA-PHA 30 Day Miracle Cream at first has this sticky somewhat consistency when I put it on my face but I love the finish, I use this at night only. 

Other products I use is 3-4 drops of Rosehip oil during the day on my face, Johnson Baby Milk + Rice Lotion and Aloe Vera + Vitamin E oil on the rest of my body and at night I use Cocoa butter or Shea butter for the rest of my body. 

I will update this as follows. If anyone has any comments or suggestions with these products, please feel free to comment. 🙌🏾

New Skincare Routine

👎🏾 Leaves a white cast and as a woman of color that is a common problem. It does dissipate fast and doesn’t leave me looking ashy so that doesn’t completely cancel out this suncream for me. 

I also experienced a little bit of stinging when it got into my eyes but it wasn’t as bad as the Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel.

🔑 Key Ingredients that caught my attention: Zinc oxide, Propanediol, Niacinamide, Magnesium Sulfate, Glycerly Caprylate, Sodium Hyaluronate. 

Clinically proven to be: 
✅Safe for sensitive skin
✅Non-irritating 

Claims: 
❇️Evens out skin tone
❇️Lightweight sunscreen 
❇️Replenishes moisture

My thoughts now: this is a lightweight, soft texture sunscreen and application is so smooth and easy. It has a milky feel to it and blends easily leaving your skin feeling moisturised, I guess this is because of the Hyaluronic acid present. There is very minimal white cast which dissipates fairly quickly leaving you with an even skin tone and your skin looks sort of shiny or should I say “glowy”. I guess people with dry skin would appreciate this. 

I would totally repurchase this because it contains Hyaluronic acid which is good for hydrating and improving the skins appearance and Niacinamide which is anti acne, anti ageing, for brightening and preventing wrinkles. 

👎🏾 Leaves a very minimal whitecast on the skin that dissipates almost immediately which is perfect 👌🏾. It did sting my eyes a lot and I just realised I was tearing up and had to wipe my eye area with wet wipes.

My thoughts now: Water-based Sun Gel with 8 types of hyaluronic acid supplies moisture with fresh finish. 8 types of Hyaluronic Acid means extra hydration for people with dry skin, replenishing moisture back into the skin. 

This is a creamy/gel-like formulation with a runny consistency as it is on the thin side. I love that it is quickly absorbed on the skin leaving you with a dewy look and your face feeling super moisturised all day. Another point for me is that there is no added fragrance in this formulation.

As someone living in a humid country, it didn’t have my face looking sweaty or oily using this formulation and I really love that, my face remained dewy till I got home. I will highly recommend this for people with dry skin especially, oily and even sensitive skin people living in a humid environment can use this as well. 

👎🏾 I have nothing negative about this as it ticks all the boxes for me in terms of extra hydration and cooling effect on my face.

🔑Key Ingredients: contains Hyaluronic Acid, Beta Glucan , Ceramide and Naju Pear Fruit Extract 100,000ppm (10%), Ceramide, Centella and Panthenol.

The box contains 10 individual single use mask. Each individual mask has a lot of essence in it that would hydrate, cool and sooth your face. Even without putting it in the refrigerator you feel the cooling effect which is amazing. 

The amount of essence in the mask means that you can actually wear the sheet for a long time and it would still be hydrating on your skin. 

I am a sucker for sheet masks as a way to just pamper myself after a long day and this is now on the top of my list.

👎🏾 I don’t have anything negative to say about this exactly, just that I would probably not be in a hurry to repurchase this as I prefer to use a foaming cleanser and this doesn’t foam. But if you are a double cleanser person then this a a good precleanser for you.

The vegan milk formulation is made with multiple extracts of rice, coconut fruit, soybean, oatmeal, & sweet almond seed for all my vegan 🌱 buddies. 

Clinically proven to be: 
✅Non-irritating 
✅To remove micropollutants
✅Safe for eyes

Claims: 
❇️pH 5.5(+/-1) Mild cleansing 
❇️Rich & Creamy texture
❇️Protects skin barrier

A mild vegan milk cleanser with Andong yam extract gently dissolves makeup and impurities without leaving the skin feeling stripped. It is excellent for removing sunscreen and minimal make up, so if you wear full make up I’d suggest using an oil based precleanser first. The Yam Root Vegan Milk Cleanser leaves your skin feeling clean, soft and moisturized. 

I’d advice you to massage this onto dry skin, and add a little water, massaging a bit longer and then rinse off. Says it is beneficial for sensitive skin but I believe dry skin and oily skin would benefit from this as well because of the moisture barrier it provides. 

I have no bad experience with this product.

Honestly, if it wasn‘t so wrong, I would totally lick my face 🙈. The Matcha smell is so amazing  and relaxing during application. Also helps that this clay mask dries within 10-15 mins for me so my routine can be done quickly. I use it once a week and my face thanks me everytime by being cleaner and happier.

Did I mention the Matcha smell is amazing and relaxing eh? It is awesome. And I love that this product comes with a small spatula to scoop out. Love love love love love this.
