To our experts/MD’s, is it safe to say that almost everyone develops some sort of stretch marks over the course of their lifetime? If not necessarily, why not? Who might be lucky enough to get to avoid them? Is there anything we can do to try to prevent them? If yes, when should we start the preventative, & what do we need to do? Does it matter what caused them, how long we’ve had them or where they’re located, as far as what we do for treatment? Are there different kinds of stretch marks? Why do they vary in color? I’ve seen people with both brown & with purplish ones. 

Has anyone ever been told any wives tales about stretch mark treatment? If so, what were you told? Did you believe it & try it? Who has a preventative they use? When did you start using it & why? Has it worked?? 

Who has tried some different things, but had no luck, or even some fails? What didn’t work for you? 

Does anyone have any HG ingredients/products that are truly THAT good? Does anyone know how to prevent them all together, or at least how to minimize them? Are there any products or ingredients that are bad news, & you’d advise us not to waste money or time on? 

Experts/MD’s, What are some products/ingredients that should be avoided at all costs if someone is pregnant, or trying to become pregnant? Are stretch marks like cellulite, in the way that I need to be drinking an abundance of water for best results? Is there anything that actually makes our stretch marks worse AFTER we already have them? What happens to them if we lose weight, deliver the baby, or gain more weight? Are there any professional procedures or treatments that are especially good or bad? Are you aware of any particular race that tends to fare better or fare worse than anyone else? Why? 

Stretch marks are one of those things, like scars & cellulite that most of us find unsightly. Thank you for opening up & sharing your opinions, your trials, your success & your failures with us! I’m not sure why it can be so difficult to talk about, but I’m glad we are! 😀

I have been reading a lot of articles that are listing their Top 2021 Products for different categories, & I have repeatedly seen BeautyStat Universal C Skin Refiner listed as a #1 in several articles. They list it as pricey, but worth it. They claim that it’s a product that produces immediate results, & after continued use, the results are nothing short of miraculous. 

Do you have experience using this product? I don’t see a lot of talk about it on Picky, but I haven’t hunted for it either. If you’ve used it, or are currently using it, what do you think? I have a bottle, & it says it’s for “All Skins”.It contains 20% Vitamin C, in the form of L-Ascorbic Acid. It claims to Brighten, Re-Texturize, Firms, Increases Collagen, Diminish Fine Lines & Wrinkles, Soothes Inflammation & Brightens & Even Skin Tone. Does it perform at a near 5 star level? It’s fragrance-free. 

What do you think? Is it worth it? Is it as good as the Editors say?

I have a couple of questions, & I’m confident that you’ll be able to help. 

1) What in the world are you all doing to successfully attract referrals? I’m regularly pitching the site, & I genuinely adore you all, so everything I say is legit & not faked/forced. Many of you have around 4 referrals, 1 person has 21!!! How are you finding you’re able to get people to follow through?

2) The rest of my questions are technical questions about the site. When you come here to start a discussion, what is “Connect”? Is the “Giveaway” tab for site/Picky Giveaways only, or also off site Giveaways? “Deals/News”..is this in regards to our brands only, or regarding anything skincare? Can we post “Deals” online to make others aware? I think the rest are pretty self-explanatory. I’m in contact daily w/members off site sharing Giveaways & Deals, & they do the same. It’d be nice to be able to do it on site as well, but I can certainly understand if Picky has no desire to do that,(unless it’s what those tabs are intended to be already)..

Thank you for your help, especially with the tips/advice on how to get referrals to the site. I’m not sure how I can possibly make it more attractive, but it’s clearly not working.

I received a sample of LaRoche- Posay Anthelios 60 Melt-in Milk Sunscreen..which happens to be my favorite sunscreen so I don’t need a sample..but, hey!! It was included on a mailing announcing they’d won over 100 beauty awards, & there was a $3 OFF coupon attached. I’m definitely a coupon using, promo code finding PickyMama, so I was excited to be able to save a little bit next time I need to buy it. Except, then I noticed the expiration date...December 31, 2021. Nice job, Quality Team!!! 😝

Everything! Touch in SOL has a stellar reputation, &amp; this product is one reason why! It’s a primer that I’ve returned to more than once, after others have failed to impress. It’s the consistency of a sorbet, &amp; it literally melts onto &amp; into your skin. As it does, you experience a cooling effect..very refreshing especially on a Monday morning! There’s a mild floral fragrance, but not overpowering in my opinion. It’s not sticky, &amp; there’s no burning or stinging..even with my sensitive skin. It does a wonderful job of prepping the skin for makeup application, &amp; my 45 yr old skin needs all the prepping it can get!

I found nothing about it that I didn’t like. Picky lists it as,”Worth a Try” for my particular needs, &amp; usually those products wind up being low on my list of fav’s..but, this has become a must-have.

I love this product! It most definitely lives up to its reputation! I love knowing that as I’m using it to refresh my skin, it’s strengthening my skin’s barrier &amp; helping to support the turnover rate at the same time. It helps to protect my skin from pollutants. It’s extremely refreshing, has a light,clean scent &amp; doesn’t burn or sting. It fits nicely in my bag, for on the go, &amp; doesn’t leak.

I was overjoyed to be picked to test this product, because I’d wanted to try it for so long. The mix of ingredients sounded so promising, I couldn’t wait to begin. The only thing I’d heard that concerned me, was that some people have a recurrence of the dark spots if they stop using transexamic acid. 

It came straight from Korea, but even still, the shipping time was exhorbitant. Had I actually paid for it, I would’ve been upset w/the length of time it took.

Unfortunately, after waiting so long to receive it, I had a serious health issue that required me to be in & out of the hospital. It began shortly after I’d started testing. I decided to be fair & honest, I’d need to delay testing until I could give it a decent trial. After only a couple days of use, I’d begun to see dark spots lightening. As soon as I stopped, they reappeared. The day after I received this, my next product to test & review,(also from Korea) arrived. I definitely didn’t want to test both concurrently, as I wouldn’t be able to give an accurate review to either. So, everything was put on hold. I’ve only had about 2 weeks since discharge to test. If anything changes, I will update this. However, as of this time, as long as there’s no abrupt discontinuance in use, results have been as great as I’d heard & hoped. I’ll definitely need to find out how to stop using transexamic acid w/o the return of dark spots. I have no intention of using it for the rest of my life, but I sure don’t miss the uneven skin! So, the only negative to this product for me would be that abruptly stopping it caused any progress I’d made to immediately reappear..just as I’d been warned & worried about. The price, size, & everything else have been all positive. 


I received this product for free from Picky & SKIN1004 in exchange for my honest review. 

I was thrilled to be picked, as I’d heard such great things about this, that I couldn’t wait to try it! Unfortunately, between the shipping time & a health issue, it’d be quite some time before I’d actually get to use it regularly. That being said, it was worth the wait! 

When the package first arrived, I was taken aback by the size of the product. 100ml is almost unheard of anymore, & considering the application instructions are to use 2-3
drops, 100ml will last a nice amount of time. The price is fair as well. There’s a decent range in price online, depending on where you shop. 

I tend to have sensitive skin, especially when my immune system is already in overdrive, but I’ve had no sensitivity issues whatsoever. There’s no noticeable fragrance. The product is fairly aqueous, with a white, tiny,  ‘sprinkle-like’ suspension throughout. It’s not sticky, & absorbs immediately & easily. 

While I didn’t discontinue use all together, in order to be able to test & fairly review the next 2 products I had waiting, I did stop using it twice daily, & have temporarily reduced use to every other day. While I’ve not noticed a return in dark spots like I did when I stopped abruptly, I also stopped noticing a huge lightening as well. I anticipate that once I’m able to return to “full time” use, I’ll once again see results that I’d experienced previously. I’ll update as needed. 

There’s really nothing bad about the product per se. I’m not a fan of products that use glass, but it’s a thick glass, so I would imagine not necessarily easy to break. It’s known for its exfolliant affect, though it’s far too gentle for my preference. I like a noticeable sloughing when I exfoliate. I also didn’t notice an immediate calming effect, though w&#47;continued use, I have. It’s definitely high on my list of toners, although Holy Grail...?? I’ll have to give it a little more time.

I first learned of this product as part of a trio, referred to as their Metamorphosis Skincare Set. This product repeatedly sells out, so of course I had to find out what the hype was all about.

It comes in a glass bottle, that is said to be reusable, but regardless, it is recyclable. There’s a very mild scent, &amp; it’s not offensive in any way. It’s a white, milky toner, &amp; the consistency is also milky. Good Light’s mission is,”Beauty beyond the binary.” They pride themselves as having products that are more inclusive, meaning clean, vegan, cruelty-free &amp; sustainably produced. Their products are made w&#47;sensitive skin in mind. They are extremely transparent in regards to the vigorous testing they’ve submitted their products to, &amp; the results produced. They want their customers to know that their products are suitable for anyone &amp; everyone. There’s no favorability to any gender or age, etc. They offer 10% off your first purchase.

The toner itself is SUPER hydrating! My skin soaked it in like it was dehydrared, &amp; finally receiving something capable of quenching its thirst! It contains ceramides &amp; promotes a healthy skin barrier. The toner contains natural Alpha Hydroxy Acids to gently slough dead skin cells. They also list Meadowfoam Seed Oil, a fatty acid, which they state calms inflammation. The combination strengthens skin &amp; helps dryness. Snow Mushrooms are listed, which are known to hold 1000x its weight in water. The particles are smaller than the particles that carry Hyaluronic Acid, which makes penetration easier &amp; more thorough. Niacinamide is also an ingredient. So, the list of beneficial ingredients is plentiful. I have been using it twice a day, after the cleanser. I have noticed the exfoliant effects, though they’re gentle &amp; slow going. The hydration is immediately noticeable &amp; long-lasting. The scent is really nice, not offensive at all. The bottle comes w&#47;a little plug&#47;stopper, which would prevent product waste if it were to get knocked over w&#47;o the lid.  There’s many, many 5 star reviews, &amp; I’m not surprised. The price is reasonable, the set even more so.

Truly, there’s nothing bad about this product in my opinion. It is a little more pricey than I’m normally comfortable with, but given the fact that we can all use the same product, the time  it saves me &amp; the cost saved by not having to mess with several different products, makes it worth the few extra bucks. Also, it’s not difficult to find it either on sale somewhere when we need it, or included as a part of a promo.

We spent some time researching various products after learning that our favorite contained an ingredient known to be destructive to coral reefs, &amp; we purchased several which failed for one reason or another. We chose this because it doesn’t contain any ingredients proven to destroying the reefs, it’s literally a milky consistency that soaks into our skin, leaving no white cast &amp; making application a breeze. It’s broad spectrum UVA&#47;UVB protective, water resistent &amp; contains antioxidants. It didn’t bother anyone’s sensitive skin, we can all use it, it’s safe for face &amp; body &amp; 100 SPF. Picky lists it as a Holy Grail product for me, &amp; they’re 100% on point!
