Hi! Any Hada Labo fans out there with tips on how you use their iconic HA lotions? 

Been feeling that my skin is really dry recently and in need of some plumping so I went out and bought their Gokujyun Ultimate Moisturising Lotion for Normal/Dry skin. But I’ve also heard that HA shld be used properly so as not to let it start absorbing the moisture from your skin and leaving it drier than it was before. 

Would love to hear how you use your Hada Labo lotion, especially which step in your routine it is (:

And of course any recommendations on other products in this line that are worth checking out!

Hada Labo Fans?

Anyone has good tips on how to reduce waste in our skincare routines? 

So far I’ve cut out disposable cotton pads by using the make-up eraser and reusable cotton pads. I’ve also stopped buying sheet masks (though I still get gifted them sometimes and must admit they’re nice and refreshing to use 😅)

Always on the look out for more ways to reduce waste! (Recyclable packaging, brands which use less packaging etc??)

Hi Pickies! 

I figure lots of Picky users love researching about skincare products, ingredients, trends etc. So where do you usually go to for such content?

Some of my favourites are:
Dr Shereene Idriss - love her no nonsense videos on YT, especially her ingredient deep dives. 

Beauty Within - also on YT, though they also have a blog and are on IG. Their videos are very informative, with easy to understand graphics, and Felicia and Rowena’s personalities are just so endearing - a positive boost for me in the middle of a busy week!

Chemist Confessions - discovered them on IG and recently started listening to their podcast. They’ve also written a book! (Which ive yet to get my hands on) And learnt that they’re now shopping to Southeast Asia where I’m from so that’s exciting. They offer a unique view as chemists who’ve worked with big brands in formulating products and really help explain what’s backed up by science (and what’s not).

Where do you get your skincare info? 📙🖥📱

Hi all! I think most of us would agree on the importance of using SPF on our face daily/regularly, with quite a lot of articles on this in recent times. 

But I’ve been wondering about SPF for the lips - is this necessary and is it safe? (What if we accidentally lick our lips and consume some 😳) I’ve had my cheeks go red and burn when I don’t have enough SPF on but never noticed a difference on my lips.

LIP SPF - necessary?

Is there one skincare brand which has all the products you think could cover all your needs? I know most of us probably wouldn’t give up mixing and matching but would love to hear your thoughts on any brand you have found that is just an all-rounder. 

I’ve used Paula’s Choice since a year ago and I think that might make the cut for me! It’s quickly given me my HG cleanser and sunscreen (and I mean not just good but HG products). They also have a host of moisturisers and serums to choose from for various needs. 

Happy to hear which is the ONE brand you’d pick if you could only choose one 😊

One skincare brand for life?

✖️ Unfortunately, while I thought this was marketed for dry skin, it’s just not enough for my dry skin. I actually think it’s better for oily skin. For dry skin, perhaps use this in the AM or when you can layer it with other products including a moisturising SPF.

While it’s not the best for me, I’d still give it 5 stars as it’s a good product:
✔️ Gel type moisturiser sinks in nicely and does not leave your skin sticky
✔️ Non irritating

✖️ Unfortunately I cant say I’ve seen much improvement in skin brightening after about slightly over a week of use. I will keep going though! After all if nothing at all, it does the basic job of a moisturiser and having the additional antioxidants from vitamin c can’t hurt.

Was really intrigued by a vitamin c cream (instead of the usual serum) so I bought this to try. 
✔️ The light citrus scent is really delightful
✔️ Texture is smooth, applies and dries down without tackiness but leaves your skin well moisturised. Suitable for dry skin. 
✔️ Luxurious glass packaging that feels weighty

👎🏼 Could be considered pricey but since SPF is a daily must, I prize having one that I enjoy using and this falls in that category. Overall, would repurchase.

👍🏻 Lovely fluid, lightweight texture that blends out easily without leaving a trace. You barely feel like it’s there. Would certainly repurchase.

😔 but! Overall i’m not sure if facial mists are necessary. It’s a nice pick me up in the middle of the day but i’m not convinced it’s a skincare essential. 
😔 i also havent tried other facial mists so i have no idea how this compares to others

Enjoyable but not sure if worth the 💵

😊 first got this when i was on isotretinoin and my skin was really dry and easily irritated - this was a life saver after workouts when my face would get particularly flushed. 
😊 it’s light and doesnt leave any unwanred residue on the skin
😊 i enjoy the scent

✖️ The matte finish was terrible for my dry skin, made it feel tight, like it was about to crack. 
✖️ There’s alcohol, which some folk dont like. 
✖️ It’s rather pricey…

Caveat: I think my experience would be the opposite if I had oily skin! So perhaps all the ✖️ points would be ✔️ if you have oily skin…
