Hey, my routine for the first three months was a simple cleanser, a physical sunscreen/moisturizer and a 5% Niacinamide soothing serum.

Then I started using Vit C serum Be minimalist aka The ordinary of India. It was ok but not the best.

So after my skin some rest for another month with my previous 3 step routine, I decided to use the Sugandha...
YOU GUESSED IT! Vit C is not for me...

I have skin of color, beginner to skincare and have mild teen acne (blackheads, pustules and cystic acne) but it's painful.

MY QUESTION IS
What alternatives do you use or suggest insted of Vit C?

I'm gonna give this a month to work and visit a derm as you can tell obviously my acne has reduced not stopped.

Alternatives coz Vit C hates me

So after a few months of just using a gentle cleanser and sunscreen/moisturizer, I think my skin barrier is ready for treatment.😀

A little Skin History:
I have Oily-acne prone skin, PIH, blackheads, whiteheads and cystic acne. Yup the whole package the last two take turns. My skin is better now and I regularly get any one of the last three and sometimes they come in couple. And they go away or pop on their own, yup I've learnt my lesson with PIH.😃

I going to deep cleanse my pores(?idk if I said it right) and strengthen my skin barrier with a 5% Niacinamide serum. And then concentrate on my PIH.
Do you think I need to add anything or make any sort of changes?🤔
When can I find out I can start with my treatments/actives? 😘

I'm a person of color. Please don't come at me after reading this, but I don't wear sunscreen to my whole body everyday. I saw my skin color lightening after regular use and I tan (don't burn). I use it religiously when I go out, sunny or cloudy. And when I'm inside, I apply it for my face & neck

I moisturize my whole body religiously everyday.
My sense of fashion is all about comfort, so my closet is filled with Tshirts and sweatpants 😌

I wanna start retinols later and I really appreciate any personal insights from your journey 😊

Any tips...? for Beginners

Here&#39;s the real tea, it was so hydrating for my oily acne prone skin so I&#39;m now using it as body moisturizing spray by mixing equal amounts of water to it. Strong fragrance. I occasionally use it (this mixture) as a face mist when I don&#39;t feel like using any other products (usually when my skin is most sensitive before my periods and during my ovulaion.)

Edit: Wait a minute... fragrance can sensitize the skin... That&#39;s it. Sorry I&#39;m not using this anymore. THANK YOU

I&#39;m not sure if it was a tiny tiny bit thick for my skin because now I&#39;m using the Simple Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin and find my skin is significantly less textured. Folks with SENSITIVE OILY-ACNE PRONE SKIN, pls keep a track of the changes. Great for any types of normal to dry skin though.

IT&#39;S THICK. I used with my serum as it was bit too thick for me.Well it did moisturize my oily acne prone skin and didn&#39;t cause any visible acne flair. A nice moisturizer for normal skin and after you&#39;ve restored the skin barrier for oily acne prone skin.

You&#39;ll to BLENNNNND the white cast. The inci list contains benzophenone&#47;oxobenzone-3 which can be mildly sensitizing to skin, would appreciate removing it. Not for folks sensitive to any smell

A really affordable sunscreen for oily&#47;acne prone skin. The texture is the characteristic texture of lacto calamine if you&#39;ve used one before. Gives you a soft to touch Matte finish skin. But still a bit greasy to touch.

Not for face though. It&#39;s quite greasy and didn&#39;t soak up completely in my face. So I ended up feeling sticky. Has a lotta fragrance and leaves white cast.

A good cheaper choice for body sunscreen.

There&#39;s no added Fragrance this makes the product smell funky but I got used to it after some time. It was a bit uncomfortable when I used it for the first time. So folks with sensitive nose give it a thought.

A very good soothing and hydrating Mandelic acid serum. Great for beginners. Has a runny oily texture. If you think it&#39;s a bit too oily for your skin buffer with your moisturizer. Quickly absorbs into skin. And remember do a patch test.
