What ingredients have more of a tendency to pill up or ways to prevent pilling of sunscreen or makeup?

「 In my own experience and light research leave on products that don't have enough time to fully absorb into the skin tend to pill up sunscreen or makeup

it's not really because of a specific ingredient but yes there is a higher tendency in some ingredients:
    • silicone (dimethicone, cyclopentasiloxane)
     • heavy moisturisers (petrolatum, heavy plant oils, fatty alcohols, oils with high viscosity) 」

    try reducing the amount of product you use before sunscreen or makeup or both, and give it a few minutes to absorb into the skin (in my experience around 5 mins)
then follow up with the next product

❗always layer serums/ampoules/essences/etc from least viscous💦 to most viscous💧



[ 🧡 TECHNIQUES 🧡 ]:
    try patting/pressing in products such as toners, serums, essences, etc since the motion of pressing the skin opens up the pores a little bit and helps products absorb better like a sponge 🧽 
❗there aren't really any accurate studies on this but still widely recommended 

    for makeup you can use a setting spray💦 or setting powder☁️ before applying makeup, it also helps fill in pores and gives you a more smoother result🌟



[ 💛 FORMULATION 💛 ]:
    Sadly sometimes formulation between products just don't mix 🧪 so it's just down to experience with different products and recommendations
here's what I found work and don't work

    > great makeup bases:
        • simple hydrating light moisturiser (oil free)
         • biore aqua rich UV pa+++
          • COSRX aloe extract spf

    > products that tend to pill (in my experience)
         • niacinamide products
          • oil absorbing sunscreen/moisturisers
             (oil absorbing and oil controlling are different)

「 Stop Makeup💄or Sunscreen☀️ From Pilling 」

I personally don't have any problems with the product itself, the name essence is a bit confusing though since most essences are more watery in texture while this product is more on the slimy side which some people may not find pleasing

the snails used for creating the snail mucin is stated to be kept at the most desirable and least stressful conditions to promote better quality snail mucin secretion

but some people may still not like the idea of it so they get the vegan dupe which are the Mixsoon bean essence or cream

Although there aren't as many studies on the effectiveness of snail mucin in promoting healing of the skin, this product saved my skin multiple times

my routine consists of quite a few harsh products such as a benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid to control my acne-prone and oily skin

I had this product for about 3 months from the time of this review and adding it to my routine made my skin glow and hydrated, the usual irritation or dryness that comes with harsh ingredients get reduced about 70%  when I use this at the end of each routine no more redness, itchyness or flaking

of course when it comes to ingredients:

• through my experience, yes the snail mucin does work in promoting skin barrier strengthening, healing and repairing

• the hyaluronic acid in it makes this essence even more hydrating

• it is also an antioxidant although I'm not sure how effective it is compared to vitamin c or e

• the anti-inflammatory aspect of it reduced the redness of my active acne quite well

• the result of applying this would give you a dewy shiny and plump look without making your skin more oily

overall it's a better Hyaluronic Acid serum with extra benefits, and it's affordable too with no fragrances, oil or alcohol
definite must have for all skin types 

surprisingly the one thing that was keeping this from being holy grail was one ingredient

for those who are sensitive to fragrances, they may find that the Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil may be irritating eventhough it provides skin barrier healing

shouldn't really be a big problem but it's a factor to look out for for those who are fragrance sensitive

surprisingly for its price which is as cheap as 1 usd, the quality is very good, the texture of the mask itself is silky smooth unlike other cheap masks, I have oily and sensitive skin and I have to use quite a lot of active ingredients to control my acne which means my skin barrier is always bombarded

the main ingredient, Centella Asiatica extract helped reduce the irritation I was getting from a weakened skin barrier especially increased irritation from current products even when it never irritated me before

also liked the different hyaluronic acid forms, skin felt very bouncy after use and woke up with a shiny dewy look after nighttime use of the mask

looking at the ingredients, it's quite hydrating so it's a yes for dry skin
mature skin as well with different antioxidants and fine lines and wrinkle control

overall 
• it's good for all skin types, not too heavy for oily skin 
• reduced redness around my nose and post acne marks so it's good for damaged skin barrier
• very hydrating especially after using benzoyl peroxide

it's quite weak, it doesn't excel much on other areas such as brightening or anti-inflammatory properties

I'm curious about the true percentage of salicylic acid, vitamin c and niacinamide in this serum since it took quite a long time before seeing mild results

the fragrance is pleasent but quite strong and definitely not for fragrance sensitive people

the concept of three in one is genius but the execution was quite weak literally, you can get two products which perform 2x better than this with all benefits this serum promised 

I find that this product also tends to pill up under sunscreen and makeup, when I don't use this product, my sunscreen and makeup go on without issues

a dupe for this would be the Beauty Of Joseon glow serum with propolis and niacinamide, however it's not as exfoliating as this Garnier one 



Salicylic acid, niacinamide and vitamin c in one serum, that's impressive

the ingredients worked quite well with each other and it's texture is light and it absorbs very easily and quick

it helped brighten my post acne marks and helped reduce mild acne

the scent is quite nice 

overall impressed Garnier formulated this without any problems and issues with stability, the ingredients are quite good especially for mild acne or if you want something to add as a mild anti acne product
