Has anyone tried both of these products? What are the differences, if any? I used to hear people preferred the Benton but I see the Isntree soooo often on Instagram skincare pages.

Battle of the Green Tea Toners

I won this product and was really enjoying the texture and slight results I was able to see. After using it for three night, coming out the shower I realized my under eyes were slightly red and the skin around my eyes felt very very tight and dehydrated. I only used for three days, only at nights. 
For context I am able to use retinol every single night with no irritation. I’m even using the retinol serum from this line nightly. Before this, I was using BOJ Retinal eye serum ever night. 
I can’t find the percentages for this eye cream. How often do you think I should apply this cream, or how often do you personally apply it?
Also what are good ways to revitalize my under eyes? Do you apply toner/serum all the way under the eye? Should I apply oils under to help? I also have this moisture repair balm - is it suitable for under the eye?

Retinol burn under eyes

Skin cycling has been growing and growing, and I’ve seen big brands like Isntree promote the trend. I personally don’t participate in skin cycling. Using retinol nightly has improved my skin so much, I want to encourage everyone to build up their tolerance to reap the total benefits of retinol. 
Here are two great videos with information on why to avoid skin cycling, a huge trend that is taking over social media at the moment. To each their own, but make sure to research before blindly hopping on to the newest trend.
Also feel free to drop your favorite retinol serums! Always looking for good recommendations.

Skin Cycling info

With the new Skin1004 sun stick being released and a chance for us Picky users to win it, I wanted to share how the BOJ Sun stick performed for me.
As you can see from the video it did not work well over makeup. I understand sun sticks aren’t the best to apply over makeup as you’re physically rubbing it on your face making disruption almost impossible. Unfortunately this sun stick was the worst one I’ve tried for OVER makeup.

The sun stick itself is really good - only if you’re planning to use it on bare skin. I’d give it a 4/5. It has a nice matte finish, glides well, and is a great shape to maneuver around the face. The reason I deduct a point is because I find the formula to setting into my fine lines. It has a powdery finish, but after an hour or so it settles into my neck lines and smile lines. It leaves a white residue, almost resembling dried deodorant, but can be tapped out and fixed quickly. 

My favorite so far is the Isntree sun stick which gave the least amount of makeup disruption. I also tried abib which wasn’t too bad but left a slightly greasy, heavy feeling over my makeup. 

So far I’ve only tried Isntree, BOJ, Abib, and Australian Gold, and I have the Mary&May Bakuchiol stick to open next. What are your favorite sun sticks?

BOJ Sun Stick over makeup

Does anyone have an issue with this toner bubbling/foaming on their face? 
I double cleanse and for the second cleanse I use a face wash foamer (get one if you haven’t yet!! I love it)
I used to think maybe there is residue face wash on my skin and causing this toner to foam up. Sometimes after a full thorough shower it still foams up! Then I thought maybe my face isn’t completely dry before applying - but still didn’t change. 
What caused some toners to bubble up like this? Do you think the fermented ingredients play a part or am I the only one that experiences this specific Skin1004 toner to bubble?

Skin1004 Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum: 5/5 
I’ve personally deemed this sunscreen the BEST SPF drop of 2022. This chemical SPF is SPF 50+, PA++++, and comes in a gorgeous pump tube. The packaging is incredible, the pump makes application so easy and gets every last drop out. Formulated with their signature ingredient - pure centella from Madagascar, and combined with hyaluronic acid, it gives a soothing effect while providing the perfect amount of hydration. I am personally oily dehydrated, and this sun serum is so light weight, it sinks right in and doesn’t make me overly oily throughout the day. The light texture is great for the summer, yet versatile enough to be suitable for colder weather. I think it’s the perfect SPF for every single skin type which is a big claim. No eye stinging, white cast, or piling. It reapplies effortlessly and is overall one of the best SPFs currently on the market.

It is hard to sink in. Apply in thin layers because if you put too much youll be rubbing for 2 minutes. Can be slightly tacky if applied too generously.

A beautiful gel sleeping mask that encapsulates the skin and draws in moisture to the skin. It contains the HA and centella formula, melatonin to firm, and pear/melon extract. This has a beautiful light fruity scent that i LOVE. I wake up with plump and brighter skin.

Personally I use retinol to care for acne, hyperpigmentation, and texture. There are ingredients here to mimic the effects of retinol, but more focused on the anti-aging side of it. Since i am still in my early 20s, I did not see many drastic results in my skin in terms of wrinkle/fineline improvement, simply because i dont have many yet.

The Vegan Active Berry line focuses on providing deep moisture while preventing signs of aging in the skin. These products contain high-density Resveratrol capsules that come from high quality French grapes. Those are the small bead like capsules that are in the product. The encapsulation technology protects the active ingredients while delivering the intensive effects to the skin. It also contains Cranbetinol - a peptide extracted from cranberries that have a similar effect to retinol. Other ingredients include grape seed oil, phyto-collagen, ceramides, etc. 
The essence itself is very viscous - almost like a liquid gel texture. You can feel the viscosity as you spread it on your face, and my dehydrated skin drinks this up! After layering 2-3 times my skin feels extremely supple and plumped. The packaging is gorgeous and also eco-friendly. This essence contains 20,000 ppm Active Berry Complex and is a great source to provide antioxidants to the skin.

My use for retinol is primarily for acne, hyperpigmentation, and texture. The cranbetinol is meant to mimic retinol, but i think more in the way of fighting fine lines and wrinkles. Being in my early 20s, i did not see a drastic change in my skin due to the fact that I do not yet have dramatic signs of aging.

🍇 Vegan Berry Active Lifting Cream: 4/5
Similar to the essence, this contains the same high-density Resveratrol capsules from French grapes, as well as Cranbetinol. With 20,000ppm Active Berry Complex it’s meant to tighten loose or sagging skin by moisture loss, improve skin elasticity, and help with wrinkles and fine lines in delicate areas.
This gel cream has a night lightweight texture while still providing great moisture. When applied to the face it gives a gorgeous glass skin effect with its dewy finish. After application I feel plump and supple, and makeup lays really nice over this cream. 

Overall I am very impressed by the technology of this line. The capsules are very intriguing and visually pleasing. I love the use of Cranbetinol to mimic vitamin A, as well as their eco-friendly approach. I’d recommend this line to more mature skin, or those who want the effects of retinol in a much more gentle version.

The only bad thing about this product is that its so good and i really want to try the I’m From Mugwort Essence but this Ginseng essence has me in a choke hold.

Ok seriously though, Ive been using it day and night every single day for almost 2 months now and im jusssstttt hitting the half empty mark. It hydrates amazingly ans can be layered as much as desired. Not gonna lie, I’m getting nervous just thinking about running out, will need to repurchase.
