What is it about Springtime that gets us hyped for sunscreen? In reality, we should be wearing sunscreen 365 days/year…but, if I’m being honest, sometimes I’m not always on my sunscreen game during the winter time. I know, I know! I’ll do better, I promise! 

Since upping my tretinoin usage to two days per week, I’ve definitely noticed that sunscreen HAS to be a part of my every day routine. There’s nothing like getting absolutely LIT UP with a sunburn the day after using tret to make you commit to an SPF, AM I RIGHT??! LOL

Anyway, I’ve noticed there are so many new sunscreens out there and I was super excited to get to try the Thank You Farmer Sun Project Skin Relief Sun Cream. This is a plant-based sunscreen that offers SPF 50+ PA++++ sun protection. The lightweight formula contains 8-Relief Complex and centella asiatica extract to soothe skin, leaving a refreshing finish. It’s dermatologically tested and reef-friendly.

The two main things I look for in a sunscreen formula are: 1) Does it leave a white cast? And 2) Will it blend into my skin effortlessly and do well under my makeup? I’m happy to say that this delivered in both of those areas. I really liked how well this one blended and that it didn’t break me out. It is pretty lightweight, and I have dry skin so I layered this over my usual moisturizer. This retails for around $24 per 50ml and I would absolutely repurchase it!

Not something id use every day because it is heavy and would clog my pores but it’s great for 2 times per week!

I was recently given the opportunity to try the purito Re-Barrier Cream. I’ve recently upped my retinol usage, so I have been looking for more ways to protect my skin barrier.

Key Features:

-Formulated with 10% Panthenol, which helps protect and strengthen the skin barrier. Panthenol also provides instant hydration, attracts and holds moisture to retain it within the skin layers.
-Contains Niacinamide, a form of Vitamin B-3, which preserves skin hydration, protects skin from environmental stressors, & helps balance oil production and inflammatory responses.
-Contains Squalane derived 100% from sugarcane, which helps instantly hydrate the skin and lock in moisture.
-Contains Centella Asiatica Extract, which offers antioxidant benefits with soothing properties that help reduce inflammation, especially on acne-prone sensitive skin.

My Experience:

-I found this to be extremely hydrating and nourishing to my skin…I love using it! 
-The texture is thick, so I used it at night after my essence/serums step. You can use a sleeping mask after applying this if you want.
-I definitely feel like this soothed my skin and began to improve/strengthen my skin barrier. However, I would not use this every night; it is pretty heavy.
-If your skin is really dry or damaged, then you could use it for a few nights in a row to get a good base of protection, but then I would alternate nights because I felt like too many nights in a row somewhat clogged my pores. 1-2 nights per week is great for me now.
-All in all, I really liked this cream. If you are suffering from skin barrier issues, it might work for you.

The texture was nice and it wasn’t sticky.

I recently won a giveaway via Picky for the Super Glutathione 100 Bright Ampoule Whitening Essence. I haven’t been using it long enough to experience true results but here are my first impressions:

-The packaging for this is really cute and fun - the essence comes in plastic syringes and each holds about 3 uses. The entire box would last about a month if used every day.
-Enriched with Glutathione 100TM, which instantly delivers an intensive brightening benefit for healthy glowing skin. It can also regulate skin pigment, improve elasticity, and reduce wrinkles.

-The texture of this is really, really nice. It is smooth and silky and sinks right in. I can attest that this does live up to the hype of giving you instantly glowing skin…it really does! 
-I’ve been using this in the mornings right after my toning step and have loved that it sinks in quickly and leaves no residue or tackiness. The smooth texture is much-needed for me during these dry winter months. 
-I haven’t been using this long enough to experience brightening effects, but I am going to keep using it and see what happens.

All in all, I like this one so far and look forward to seeing how it affects my skin over the next couple of months. (Thank you so much to Picky and Surmedic for sending this to me to review!)

The texture is nice and not sticky. It sinks right in and is moisturizing.
