Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Mattifying cleanser is a perfect addition to my daily skin care routine. I have struggled with oily skin and large pores my entire life, and now that I'm in my early 40's it has become even more important to me to keep my skin looking and feeling as healthy as possible. As an esthetician I know the benefits of double cleansing the skin, which many of my clients weren't aware of before. The most efficient way to remove all the dirt, oil and other free radicals that our skin is exposed to everyday is to first Cleanse with a gentle facial cleanser suitable for your specific skin type and skin concerns. This helps to wash away the oil-based and most damaging stuff on the skin. Most people will stop there and be done. The purpose of the double Cleanse is to then use a product such as Garnier Micellar Water to really get down into pores and thuroughly remove water-based environmental and cosmetic residues completely from your skin. Not all regular facial cleansers are capable of removing oil-based and water-based substances from the skin. After washing with my regular facial cleanser I apply a small amount of Micellar Water to a cotton pad and gently apply in circular upward motions to my entire face and neck area. This very gentle yet effective step removes the impurities my first cleanser left behind and the Mattifying formula helps control excess sebum production (which is what causes oily skin) on my skin all day so my skin doesn't look oily by noon anymore. I highly recommend this product for anyone who struggles with oily skin. It's gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin (I have clients who use it the day after having chemical peels or microderm abrasion) yet effective enough to help skin stay matte, even if you have large pores and naturally oily skin that other products fail to control. I have used this as part of my daily skin care routine ever since I discovered the product years ago and I have yet to find a product that works better for me.

They call this buildable coverage but personally I felt it was sheer. It does perfect, it does conceal minor issues such as redness, and it does brighten your complexion considerably but for those who like a higher amount of pigmented coverage this might not be for you. I liked the natural, second-skin coverage it provided. It eases my dullness, brightened my complexion, and gave my skin a very natural, flawless finish. I also loved the super creamy consistency that blends easily into skin without adhering to drier areas. I think L’Oreal has the texture down just right as too many times I run into Korean cushions that set to a matte or satin finish that ends up clinging to my drier areas. This formula had a soft, smooth, semi-satiny set that felt moist but not oily, greasy, shiny, or dewy. It does wear a shorter time if you aren’t setting it with powder. I can get about five hours from it without powder and at hour five it shows signs of fading.



I didnt like this product. It made my hair very oily. I DO NOT recommend.

Thank being said, I do know it's a very expensive moisturizer, and not everyone wants to immediately click purchase when you haven't tried it yourself. With Drunk Elephant, I always recommend grabbing one of their littles sets, so you can try a smaller version of various products without having to make a huge investment.

Protini over the course of a couple months, so I really feel like I've had the time to fully form my thoughts on this moisturizer. First of all, love the packaging. It's a pump, so your product isn't being exposed to the air when you use it. Plus, it's more hygienic than sticking your fingers in a jar every time you need to apply. The pump dispenses the exact right amount, at least it was for my skin, but you can easily just not push the pump all the way down and get whatever amount you need. Also, the way the pump is designed, you get every single last drop of this moisturizer! Which is great since it is a pricey one. The formula itself is more towards the gel side, but is definitely the most moisturizing and long lasting gel l've ever used. A lot of the time gel formulas absorb quickly, and then totally vanish from my face, but I could feel this moisturizer still hydrating my skin for the majority of the day. It paired really well with the Marula Oil (both from Drunk Elephant and Instanaturals), and adding that helped Protini last even longer on my skin. If you're not dry, you might not need to do this. I think the Drunk Elephant Protini moisturizer would work with oily skin, normal, and dry, but probably not very dry skin. It's lightweight enough for oily skin, while still being hydrating enough for dry skin Is it worth the price tag? In my opinion, yes it is. I really liked this moisturizer.
Probably my favorite moisturizer l've ever tried, which is a pretty bold statement. I definitely plan to repurchase it in the future.

It feels a bit harsh and gritty, so since I have sensitive skin, I only use it every other day as recommended, but it really works. 

I’m a loyal apricot scrub lady for exfoliating purposes only - that is until the sand in it kept grossing me out in my drains and the grittiness on my shower floor. I, luckily, was selected to try this microdelivery exfoliating cleanser and it is so SO nice! My chin area always has these little invisible pimples and I actually feel that they get buffed off and my chin feels so smooth. I did notice that my skin feels sensitive if I use three days straight so I took a break for a day then resumed. It’s also winter time and my skin is so dry this time of year. So far it’s been nearly a week and I am enjoying this wash. Skin is soft and not bumpy. I had my husband feel my cheeks to feel how smooth. Also note* this is good because it’s an exfoliator and a cleanser that lathers so now I don’t feel the need to wash my face with two different products. I pay a decent amount for another face wash I use and I can see this lasting a good long time, making it cost effective and from a well known reputable brand!
