Eczema Therapy Itch Relief Balm
I bought this to try out a balm specifically for eczema.
The highlight ingredient as with all Aveeno products is colloidal oatmeal and this balm has it at 1% making it an active ingredient. Colloidal oat is a favorite ingreident of mine since it helps in calming my eczema and the itch that comes with it.
It feels like a very smooth balm when applied to the skin and is easy to rub in weather the skin is wet, damp, or dry. It does go on shiny but the shine dosn't stay long and it skins into the skin well so it dosnt feel greasy on the hands.
Its a light cream almost translucent white color in the jar but once rubbed into the skin it leaves no white color at all. It acts like any other ointment or balm.
It's both fragrance and steroid free.
I love using this balm all over my skin. It dosn't bother my eczema inflamed hands or feet at all and is great after hand washing as well.
As much as I love the feel and texture of this I'm not convinced that this is better than other ointments on the market or more effective than an eczema cream. It was around $16.00 usd for 12 oz/312 grams so its price wise on par with Cerave's ointment. Basically it's drugstore but not cheap drugstore.
I also wish it came in squeeze containers not just for sanitairy reasons but for convience. This will have to stay in your bed or bathroom since its a tub and not eady to carry around all day. Other balms and ointments now come in tube sizes for convience so at this pount Aveeno should be doing the same.
I would still reccomend it on the great texture for a balm since it dosnt feel as greasy as Vadeline, or Cerave/Aquaphor's healing ointmenrs. But If you're like me and don't mind that then there are other effective and less expensive options out there.
I will finish this jar because I enjoy this balm a lot for it's texture but as of writing this review I don't think it's going to replace my tried and true Aquaohor ointment.
