Melt-In Milk Sunscreen

product review positives
REVIEW: Sunscreen from Philippines! 🇵🇭 (1/2) *PR -- @soulapothecary_ph Melt-In Milk Sunscreen SPF 37 is a, broad spectrum, hybrid physical and chemical sunscreen to protect the skin from UV rays and prevent photo-aging, hyperpigmentation, skin damage and burning. -- I believe I have a Frtizpatrick IV skin which described as light brown skin. ☀️ Has a milky consistency like evaporated milk that feels very emollient when applying it to the skin. Depends on the skincare underneath, the finish varies from semi-matte, natural or glowy finish. ☀️ The formula is not elegant. "Feels like a sunscreen." But it is lightweight and non-greasy! ☀️ No fragrance doesn't mean no scent. This smells powdery. ☀️ It leaves a slight but still noticeable whitecast on me and it remains even after wearing it for hours. I can still see a bit of a whitecast before doing my night skincare routine. ☀️ Love that it doesn't pill even when applied in layers or reapplication. Doesn't feel gritty too. ☀️ Despite having old generation chemical UV filters, it has little to no stinging on the eyes. ☀️ I find that when my skin is dehydrated, this one tends to dry out my skin more. It can cling on dry patches too. Probably from the physical UV filters. ☀️ Has oil-control ability and doesn't make my skin overly dewy after hours of wearing. ☀️ This is may not be facial hair-friendly especially for the guys who like to grow out their beards and/or mustache. ☀️ Not advisable for active people because white pigments might come off when sweating. ☀️ It doesn't claim to be water-resistant but double cleansing is a must here. Based on my experience, physical UV filters sticks on the skin. ☀️ Works under makeup and provides blurring effect to the pores. -- Sadly, this product didn't stick out to me. I do use hybrid sunscreens but the "physical" stands out more here which I didn't like. I wish it felt more "chemical." It serves as my indoor sunscreen only. This will definitely look grayish on deeper skin tones. A bit moisturizing for oily to combination skin types. If you have drier skin, moisturize really well before using. Rating: ★★★ Will I repurchase? Maybe I won't.
product review negatives
Is Melt-In Milk Sunscreen from @soulapothecary_ph an Anessa dupe? + more thoughts about the sunscreen! Let's find out! 🥰 I hope you check out my try-on reel and full review for this sunscreen too. 🥺 -- Product Description/Claims: • Melt-In Milk Sunscreen is lightweight, fragrance and alcohol-free sunscreen is perfect for Philippine weather! It has a fluid-like milky consistency and absorbs well without leaving a white cast. • Ultra Light. Non-greasy, fast absorbing, velvety finish formula. • The brand also said that if you love Anessa, this is something you should try. 👀 -- Luckily, I have Anessa Perfect UV Suncreen Skincare Milk . Swipe for comparison to know if it's a dupe or not. 👀 Tbh, both of these sunscreens didn't suit my skin concerns. I have an oily skin so I really like how they do not make my skin looking like a greaseball. But...I have a dehydration-prone skin. Both sunscreen makes my skin tight. The Soul Apothecary one can only feel drying when my skin is going through dehydration or sensitized. While Anessa can really sensitize my skin so bad due to dehydration. I only use this when I know my skin is at its best and when I know I don't wanna look too shiny outdoors. They are both great sunscreens but these are not just for me. Mineral sunscreens or hybrid sunscreens that feels more "physical" don't work for my skin. -- Thoughts 💭 In my opinion, both are not really brown skin-friendly as they can look grayish to the skin. On my skin, Soul Apothecary leaves a noticeable whitecast while Anessa gives a tone-up effect on my skin. These will work very well for those who have oily skin and not sensitive to physical UV filters. I've been using them for quite some time now and give them lots of chances to work but nah. 😞 I can make the Soul Apothecary work by using less than 1/4 teaspoon. To repurpose them, I will use Soul Apothecary on my body or my face sometimes while I will use Anessa only on trips.
