Acnes Anti-Acne Spot Gel
My go-to acne spot treatment. Here's why:
TLDR:
- Texture -> Clear gel with small capsules, non-sticky, dries into a clear film
- Key Ingredients -> Sulfur, BHA and Centella Asiatica
- Effectiveness -> best for treating small pimples
- Scent -> sulfur, kinda like rotten eggs (tolerable imho)
- Packaging -> soft squeezy tube, dispense a reasonable amount
- Price -> Affordable (P283/18g)
I find this less messy and more cosmetically elegant to use than our old fave (which was a clay/mask type). With its clear gel formula, it's not noticeable when applied on the face; I don't feel like I need to wash off the white spots that the old one leaves whenever we need to go out somewhere unexpectedly.
In terms of effectiveness, I could say it's alright! It's got Salicylic Acid, Sulfur and Centella Asiatica to fight off inflammation and dry up any acne I have. I see more dramatic results with tiny pimples as long as I use it consistently (2-3 times a day). This is not enough for huge or really inflamed ones that are deep beneath the skin. I would use something else for that.
In my husband's case, his pimples tend to be noticeably less inflamed in the morning whenever I treat his pimples at night. Even the worst ones. IDK if he just has magic skin, but this product seems to work much better for him than for me. He's very lucky, I don't think its fair but everyone's skin is different I suppose.
The best part it it's super affordable and lasts for a long time. This has treated so many pimples, I couldn't even count!
Repurchased this!
The only con I had here is that the smell of the product may be off-putting to some. Since it has Sulfur as an ingredient, which infamously smells like rotten eggs, the experience was not pleasant initially. I grew to tolerate the scent, my husband doesn't think it's too bad.
