I’ve noticed for 3 products now, the ingredients or images on picky don’t match what’s shown on the brand’s website. I’m not sure if it’s an old ingredient list that picky has, but it doesn’t always match up. I’m sensitive to common ingredients and have been using picky to check if products were ok for me, but now I realize I can’t really trust the info here. Has anyone else experienced this?

I’m getting one next week because I’ve had a lot of weird reactions to products that doctors would usually recommend like aveeno and cetaphil. It’s the one where they put 80 chemicals on your back and cover them for a few days. I’m wondering what to expect and if it will affect my sleep or productivity during the day at all since it’s a 4 day long test.

Has anyone had a skin allergy patch test?

Is there anyone who has tried both products who can recommend which is best? I tried a sample of the LRP and liked it a lot, but I’m interested in the Vichy one as well before I commit to a full size from LRP. 

I’m searching for a good moisturizer with some active acne fighting ingredients like these two, are there any other products I should look into other than these?

LRP Effaclar Duo + vs Vichy Normaderm Moisturizer

I’ve been experiencing issues with a few products and all include Stearyl Alcohol in the ingredients. These two cetaphil products make my lips feel numb on contact. I recently stopped using my deodorant because it made my armpits itchy and painful, and have realized now that stearyl alcohol is also an ingredient in that. 

Has anyone else had issues with this ingredient? I have not noticed any issues with cetyl alcohol and cetearyl alcohol, but read online that they are similar and I don’t want to develop an allergy to them too.

I want to start off by saying I know spf is important for preventing hyperpigmentation, but my boyfriend is not interesting in using it at this time (grew up in the desert and never used, so doesn’t want to use in Canadian winter lol). 

As far as I know, anything targeted towards getting rid of dark post acne marks will increase the skin’s sensitivity to the sun and thus require using spf in the routine as well. 

Are there any options that will be effective at reducing his dark spots that he can safely use without adding spf? 

He currently uses niacinamide but I know that it’s not the most effective option. He was interested in a Vitamin C serum but the ones I’ve seen for dark spots all recommend sun protection. I added the products he currently uses below.

I HATED this moisturizer so much. I had read a lot of great reviews so I was really excited to try it out, but I was very disappointed with it and ended up returning it. 
My biggest issue was how it felt on my skin. It felt so wet and gross on my face. Texture wise it applied easily but took a while to dry into my skin.  Usually I like to test a product for at least 2 weeks before making a decision about it but the wet feeling was so unbearable that I only lasted 5 days. 
The screw cap has such a small screw diameter that its hard to close up. This was so irritating that I wont be buying similarly packaged products in the future. 
My skin was mostly ance free before using this, but a day after my first use I noticed all kinds of little fluid filled bumps on my nose and chin. Not a normal type of breakout for me. Breakouts cleared up when I stopped using it. 
It provided an ok level of moisture, but just not enough for me even though I have oily&#47;combo skin. 
In my opinion, this is a glorified aloe vera gel. Save your money and pick up a bottle of fragrance&#47;alcohol free aloe vera gel. It will have a similar texture and moisturizing&#47;soothing  properties.

The packaging is cute and the ingredients seem nice. The brand has a good return policy.

Unfortunatly each time I tried to use this, it made the area under my eyes red. I tested it on one half of my face and both times the same thing happened only on the side I used it on. It also is stickier than what i’m used to and takes a little longer to absorb into my skin, but this wasnt the main issue for me. I suspect I’m probably sensitive to an ingredient in this. I wish I could use it longer to see its results but I can’t justify continuing to use it when I have a reaction to it. I’ll probably hand this off to a friend.

Has a nice texture and no scent. Feels good on application. Moisturizes sufficiently.

This is super thin and watery. This is probably why it absorbs so well but it makes application a little difficult.

I really like this SPF. It absorbs very quickly over even thick moisturizer with no while cast. The smell is light and not like sunscreen. It leaves a shiny but not greasy finish which i really like because it makes my skin look glowy. The spout for the bottle makes it easy to get the right amount of product out.

Every time i try to use this to wash my face, my lips go numb.

This is a basic cleanser, gel, foaming, nothing fancy.

The texture of this is really odd. It is very watery and tends to drip out of the dropper even if im not squeezing it. On application it feels very oily. It does apply very easily though and absorbs very quickly, so the texture is not enough of a problem for me to dislike this product.

I decided to try mandelic acid as it was the gentlest AHA for my sensitive combo skin. I see such a big difference the morning after application in the size and inflamation of active acne and lightening of dark spots. I use this 3x per week and have had no irritation, redness, or stinging on my sensitve cheeks.
