Hi all! I've noticed that a number of brands that I associate with cosmetics (Tarte, Hourglass, etc.) have either grown their skincare lines like crazy or transitioned to selling skincare for the first time. Do you think this is just a trend, a bad idea for them to get involved in the first place, or something else all together?

Bonus if you can suggest a great product from makeup turned skin brands! 😌

As a brand, Cosrx uses a number of animal products in their offerings which isn&#39;t cute. I also think it may not be very effective enough for folks with dry skin.

Cosrx as a brand is amazing, and they did not disappoint with this toner! My skin is very sensitive, and as such there are only a few acids I have found that don&#39;t irritate my skin. Hyaluronic acid in this product works perfectly to clarify my skin without drying it out or irritating it. The Hydrium Watery Toner is super light, doesn&#39;t have much of a scent, and is free from the ingredients that make my skin irritated and angry. It&#39;s perfect to use after cleansing just to tone and ensure your skin is grime and oil free before diving into serums! I haven&#39;t used this long enough to say for sure, but I have a feeling this is a holy grail product for me!

The marine cream is never going to be a skincare staple for me. There isn&#39;t any burning or irritation felt, but it always seems to make my sensitive skin red and inflamed after application. While it smells delightful, the large number of fragrances in this product may be one of the reasons why it reacts poorly with my skin! Lastly, while using plant based ingredients in place of normally animal sourced components is very commendable, the fact that Elemis is no longer a cruelty free brand is incredibly disappointing to me. While I have enjoyed some of their products, I don&#39;t see myself buying more in the future.

The pro collagen marine cream is a great day cream that gives you a nice little boost of hydration without being too thick and heavy. I really enjoy the scent of the cream as well, it&#39;s bright and springy without being too overpowering or floral. I also really do appreciate that the collagen is sourced from algae based sources rather than animal sources. It&#39;s not my go to, but at face value, it seems nice enough.

$38 for sunscreen isn&#39;t too cute, but you get what you pay for!

I received this product complimentary from Supergoop in exchange for my honest opinion. Honestly and truly, I absolutely adore this sunscreen! I&#39;ve always tried to keep my skin protected, especially in the summer, but I&#39;ve definitely spent years buying the store brand spray sunscreen and calling it good. That&#39;s not the case anymore! In the last year I&#39;ve really committed to taking better care of my skin so this product couldn&#39;t have come at a better time! The sheerscreen comes in a cute bottle that is on the smaller side so super convient to stuff in a small bag if you&#39;re on the water or outside all day. Texture wise, the sheerscreen reminds me of a skincare serum, light but not thin or watery. It has a very subtle, pleasant smell which is a nice reprieve from the overly scented sunscreens I&#39;ve tried in the past. As per instructions (which I was incredibly grateful to have as I do not have much experience with mineral sunscreens) I applied the sheerscreen after my full skincare routine, but before any makeup application. As it is mineral sunscreen, I expected to see a strong white residue left after application, but I was pleasantly surprised! The sheerscreen blended down so nicely with such a light, subtle finish that I had to look in the mirror at several angles to see a white cast at all! After a full day outside, my skin still felt happy, hydrated, and most importantly protected! Sweating and physical exertion did not make the sheerscreen wear off which is such an added bonus! While i can completely understand that Supergoop&#39;s products are not for every price point, I am in love and will likely buy more in the future!

If you&#39;re looking for a super deep clean, this probably isn&#39;t the product for you! 
I have no issues with this product, I use it really regularly and love it!

On a first look, the box that housed my cleansing oil was thin and a little worse for wear from shipping, but the bottle itself was intact. The bottle is both minimalist and gorgeous with its components visibly separated while undisturbed. It looks a lot cooler than it sounds, trust me. I heard from others that they don&#39;t adore the smell, but personally it smells serene and earthy, akin to the woods after a heavy rain. After a good shake to mix it up, I applied the recommended 2 pumps of product. It might be a good idea to apply the product to your hand or a sponge because the product, while creamy, is incredibly thin and comes out of the pump quite quickly. It goes on really smoothly and soaks down into your skin. I didn&#39;t have any burning, tingling, or irritation from it, which as someone withs always a blessing. Although the product felt great on my skin, I honestly don&#39;t know how much cleaner it felt overall, but maybe I&#39;m just not used to cleansing oils yet. I do recommend using the double cleanse method or alternating this with another cleanser every few days! 
Side note: This product does contain lactic acid so if anyone doesn&#39;t already wear sunscreen, please apply some after using this product.

Not my favorite product because of minor irritation and interaction with my skin. As I mentioned before my skin is just a little too sensitive for daily use. I never fully got used to the clean, lemongrass scent that everyone else seems to love. The fact that it doesn&#39;t have a cap or lid for the bottle bothers me to no end.

Update: in the time since I received this product, my used became more and more infrequent because of an uncomfortable burning that I started experiencing as I used the product. I was stubborn, and thought if I tried the product one more time, it would do well for me because it was working wonders for others I know. If you have sensitive skin, I would steer clear of Good Genes entirely. It feels awful because I wanted toove this product so badly, but it is not for me. 

Firstly, the packaging for Good Genes was beautiful and sleek, but I didn&#39;t love that there is not a lid for the product&#39;s pump, but it is possible to lock in place. Good Genes has a fresh but foward scent. Its a clean smell but just a little too strong for my tast, reminiscent of lemongrass essential oil. On my skin, there was initially a light burning sensation, but I expected this because of the acids on my sensitive skin, but it dissipated quickly. After application, my skin felt a lot smoother and there was a visible glow&#47;dewiness. In the time I&#39;ve used Good Genes, I&#39;ve noticed little less redness and texture to my skin and my skin looks a bit clearer overall. It claims to improve fine lines and wrinkles, and while I don&#39;t have many, I didn&#39;t notice much difference there. Overall, it&#39;s a very good product, but like almost all skincare products it doesn&#39;t live up to all of its hype. I definitely experience a bit of irritation when I apply it so I use it fairly infrequently
