How was your experience with azelaic acid? What did it do for you?

I've seen some products labelled as 'booster' or sometimes 'skin booster' and wanted to know if this term had some kind of relevance or meaning.

What the logic behind a 'booster' ? Is it an actual thing? 

Or is it just a marketing term? A fancy word for serum or toner/ essence?

What's a Booster?

Are there any products with a low star rating that you believe should be rated higher?
Or maybe something you had low expectations for but ended up loving?

      °° Texture and Application °°
It's a clear, water based serum that's very slightly viscous. Feels light on the skin and spreads nicely. It often leaves my skin feeling a bit sticky and sometime it pills, so I try to avoid that by gently patting it in.

        • Experience and Thoughts •
I used this serum daily in both my am and pm routine and it lasted for almost two months. My skin never got irritated or too dry while using this. It also seemed to reduce my redness a bit.

The biggest change I saw in my skin was that my t zone was less oily throughout the day and my pores felt less clogged. I think it also helped a bit with preventing new breakouts, though the difference wasn't that huge. In terms of reducing hyper-pigmentation or the appearence of my pores there weren't any improvements, but I also didn't expect much considering it's a very simple serum.

It's not by any means a miracle product but it can be a nice addition to an already established routine or if you've never tried niacinamide and are looking for something affordable.
It's biggest strength is the price, probably the lowest there is for a niacinamide serum.

It think all skin types could use this but oily and combination skins could benefit more from its sebum controlling properties.

It does have an initial greasy feeling depending on how much you put on, but it disappears in less than an hour. Apart from that, it's a good moisturizer. 
What keeps me from repurchasing it is the price. At ~30€ for 50ml, it is an expensive product and imao one not worth splurging on. There are better moisturizers for half the price. 
Also, the fragrance might irritate some people.

           ∆ Texture and Application ∆
This is a mildly fragranced moisturizer with more of a lightweight consistency, almost like whipped cream and it spreads smoothly on the skin. At the same time, it's quite rich, to the point that my skin felt a bit greasy upon application. But fortunately, that feeling didn't linger and after 30 min the moisturizer had completely absorbed into my skin.

What I enjoy about this product is the firming effect it delivers. The cream itself is very nourishing and my skin feels always incredibly soft and plump after using it.

I don't have wrinkles, but I can imagine that the plumping effect could make some fine lines a bit less noticable.
Still, it would only be a temporary fix and nothing long lasting.

This cream could work perfectly during mid seasons, because it's a bit too rich for summer but also not occlusive enough to put on in winter.

Could be a bit basic for some, but for that price point I think it's expected.

Texture
It looks and feels pretty much like water, the texture is very thin (see the video). I had problems when applying this on dry skin; it would feel extremely sticky. But when putting it on damp skin that effect disappears and it quickly sinks in.

     Experience
It's a very simple, light hydrating serum, but I appreciated it in it's simplicity. It can be incorporate it in any routine to add a bit of hydration. And the ingredients in it are proven to support your skin barrier. Still, do not expect any marked difference in your skin from using this product alone.

[Description and Texture]

This product is pretty much a dupe for TO niacinamide serum: similar name, similar formulation and similar packaging. But unlike TO niacinamide, it does not pill.

The texture is viscous and it feels a bit sticky after it has dried down, but it&#39;s not a huge problem. To reduce the sticky feeling I would be applying it on damp skin and gently patting it in with my fingers.

I used this serum twice or sometimes once daily and it lasted for about two months. There was a decrease in sebum production and it prevented a bit the formation of new pimples, but nothing dramatic. I saw was no visible difference in my pores or my hyperpigmentation after finishing the bottle. 

It costs slightly more than TO niacinamide (at least where I live), and while it does not necessarily perform better, I gave it one star more than the TO niacinamide simply because it does not pill.

Combo and oily skin people looking for a product to reduce sebum production.

Cannot be used as a standalone hydrating product. If your skin is dry or dehydrated, you'll need much more.

      ∆ Texture and Application ∆

This serum feels slightly thicker than water. It's a bit sticky and I felt like it didn't work when applied on dry skin. You need to dampen your face first to make it penetrate better. What I also like to do is mix it with a couple drops of water first. Absorbs nicely and does not leave any kind of finish.

I've read that many disliked the packaging, but I actually didn't have any problems with the bottle dispenser.

I bought this serum at a time when my skin was getting dehydrated from the cold, hoping that it would help with that. It offers a basic amount of hydration and my skin never had a negative reaction to this. Upon application it feels nice, but the hydrating feeling doesn't last long throughout the day and I didn't notice a big difference when it wasn't in my routine. 

I think that it's an ok product, but it wasn't enough for my dehydrated combination skin at the time. 
I would have probably enjoyed it better during summer.

Normal to oily skin people. I didn't find it extremely hydrating so I don't think that dry skin peeps will benefit much from it.
