GEL CREAMS FOR OILY-DEHYDRATED SKIN

I love chemical sunscreens and my skin has no problem with it back then. But I don't know what happened now because it starts to sting my nose and mouth area especially when my skin is sensitized.

Aside from opting to use a physical sunscreen(which I won't because they dry out my skin causing more sensitivity),  how do you deal with this? :(

What are your thoughts on reusable cotton pads? Love that I will reduce the waste I am making by using this but do you think it's hygenic? How often do you change it? How to take care and store it?

MY EXPERIENCE:

This is what I would say my first retinoid product. Although I have tried the least potent type of retinoid, I mostly use that as my spot treatment or on my neck.

If you are looking for a sign to try retinoids like Retinol/Retinal, I am giving you that rn!

This product is a game-changer on my routine. 

 There is a misconception about retinoids thinning the skin out and that is not the case. It actually thickens it as it stimulate collagen production that will strengthen the skin over time.

And I definitely agree! 

Back then when I haven't tried this, my skin is always prone to dehydration caused by damaged skin barrier that even layering hydrators and moisturizers don't work well. I do experience this too when I was on my 1st to 2nd month of using the retinoid but not too often than before.

And now, I have been using a lot of actives lately. I use a 2% Salicylic Acid Cleanser then use retinoid.

 I started using this daily since January but last May, I sometimes alternate AHA and Retinal on a nightly basis.

 And currently, I am using Azelaic Acid + Salicylic Acid Gel in the morning and Retinal Cream at night. And I don't feel any tightness or stinging! Skin is still happy. 

This product has been helping me to keep my skin healthy and maintain its elasticity. 

As for acne, it did just an okay job on preventing them. I am suffering from hormonal breakouts and it is absolutely hard to avoid having them.

I love this product so much and glad I have back ups!

This is a moisturizing and beginner-friendly retinoid product for that well-aging routine. Whether you have dry, combi, oily, or even sensitive skin, this is something you can incorporate to your routine!

30-Day Journey with @bywishtrend Vitamin A-Mazing Bakuchiol Night Cream

Disclaimer: I have tried a Vitamin A serum last year that uses Retinyl Palmitate, the least powerful retinoid. That's very gentle and I didn't notice any drastic changes on my skin.

My Experience:

I just wanna start off by saying that my skin has never felt this a-mazing! 🥺 Literally can't stop myself from looking at the mirror.

They are not kidding when they said this is a Vitamin A for beginners! It is very gentle on my skin that I didn't experience severe irritations plus I can use it around the eye area.

The cream itself leaves a glowy finish and doesn't make my skin feels tacky. It has lotion consistency that provides both hydration and moisturization. It spreads easily on to the skin and absorbs quickly while still having enough time to blend it in.

It is my first trying a product with Retinal or Bakuchiol.  My skin before using had just recovered from being damaged, had a few active acne, and fresh PIH/PIE.

 It wasn't a smooth experience since I purged for 2 weeks but it  indeed results to a smoother, firmer and radiant skin! 

The most noticeable effect is how it lessened my skin textures. My pores appear refined and skin doesn't feel/look bumpy. 

It reduces the appearance of my hyperpigmentation as well as red marks in conjunction with my other calming and brightening products.

 I have acne-prone skin. I  still get pimples but not as big or painful. It's inevitable. They heal after a few days.

Improves my skin elasticity that results to a plumper and healthier skin!

Kudos to ByWishtrend for formulating this kind of product. This product offers a-mazing effects that I see and feel in 1 month of using.

This has been on my wishlist for so long and finally got the chance to try it.

I am afraid to use ascorbic acid on my skin so I usually opt for Vitamin C derivatives or ingredients high in Vitamin C.

And this serum has 70% Tangerine Extract, Niacinamide, and Ascorbyl Glucoside to not just brighten my face but also abundant with antioxidants.


This lightweight gel-type serum is both hydrating and moisturizing on the skin. 

A great serum to  pair with sunscreen!

My Final Thoughts:

This sunscreen is absolutely not for my skin tone and that goes the same with other mineral sunscreens. I accepted that fact. xD

The whitecast doesn't really disappear on appear. I look white all day. 

But unlike other mineral or hybrid sunscreens that I tried, this one of the few that didn't cause too much dehydration on my skin. 

The finish isn't fully matte. It has an emollient feel leaving your skin with a bit glow. 

As someone who can experience dehydration or dryness with mineral sunscreens, it best for me to add a lot of moisture before going in with this sunscreen. 

After incorporating a moisturizer before this, I didn't get any dry patches.

Would like to commend the brand for the texture of this product..It is not paste-y and glides to the skin nicely. 

I didn't experience any pilling even when applied in layers. But sadly, my makeup doesn't look good on top of this sunscreen.

No eye sting too!

Do I like it? I don't. It just doesn't blend with my skin tone unless I use a small amount which is not okay when using a sunscreen.

But it is okay and better than my drying mineral sunscreens. Would bring this on beach trips!

This would work best on oily skin types. Moisturize well if you have combination-dry skin.

This is my first time trying out a sun serum. It actually felt more of like a gel sunscreen.

Surprisingly, this has 2% Niacinamide, Arbutin, and Ascorbyl Glucoside which may be why it is called serum because it is concentrated with these brightening ingredients.

UV Filters: Uvinul A Plus, Tinosorb S, Uvinil T 150, Amiloxate, Parsol SLX.

Absolutely felt like a serum! So, so light on the skin. 

I truly enjoy applying this every morning because I don't have to worry about it leaving any whitecast. It doesn't also take a lot time to set.

No eye sting. No pilling. Works just fine under makeup. 

Serum and sunscreen in one!

❌ Has alcohol and  lots of essential oils. 
 Scent lingers and smells like citrusy plastic.

But both me and my sister experience that once we lather the oil with a little water. It turns into milk-paste(like you are spreading glue to your face) consistency. It is quite a struggle to remove and it clouds our vision and hurts our eyes.

It is a sherbet-type oil cleanser for removing makeup and sunscreen easily. It goes on as a solid balm, transforms into a silky oil cleanser on the skin then becomes milky while rinsing.

Comes in a tub with a flip-top lip + inner lid.

✨ MY EXPERIENCE: ✨

I am not into makeup. Products I used in the time of testing are only skin tint, lip gloss/tint, easy-to-remove mascara, and browcara. Sometimes I wear blush but all of them are not waterproof. It did remove my makeup easily.

But my sister does wear some waterproof makeup so she takes some of this to remove her makeup.

She said that it effectively get rid of her mascara and eyeliner without having to follow up with another makeup remover.

I find that using a lot more water to emulsify it is better than using a little to avoid the milky consistency turning into paste-like lather.

While rinsing it off turns out not too easy, the after results are commendable. No stripping feeling and there is no trace of oily residue.

The scent didn't bother me at all. It adds to the sensorial experience.

I prefer to use this more when I have makeup due to its strong cleansing ability.

FINAL VERDICT:

This is my first cleansing balm and I definitely understand the hype. I am more of a cleansing oil person but getting to test a balm is not as bad as I thought. I think I like balms better now.

The scent feels like a spa but if you are overly sensitive to essential oils, you might want to skip this. Otherwise, this is a good cleansing balm to add in your routine!
