I had acne for a very long time. Christmas 2019 I was going through the worst break out I’ve ever been through.
Acne was always such a big insecurity of mine and it didn’t help when people felt emboldened enough to make comments about my skin, which happened frequently.

One time, in December of 2019, I was buying Christmas gifts with my grandmother at this shopping center when a man with a booth approached us and started trying to sell us his CBD skin products. He turns to me and goes “So what’s up with your skin, BABE. What happened?” Nowadays I’d probably tell him off on how pointing out someone’s insecurities when you don’t know them is a shite thing to do but I was younger and more shy. He escorts me over to his desk and proceeds to try and sell me a 5ml small disk of CBD balm for 80$ that had a consistency of Vaseline: the first ingredient being what? COCONUT oil?!? I couldn’t believe it and my skincare knowledge took over as I told him exactly why coconut oil was bad for you and what made it comedogenic. The look on his face was priceless lol.

Is there a food you can eat and will immediately get acne? Which food have you seen a noticeable connection to when it comes to your acne? What’s your story?

Mine is dairy, I’ve been vegan for a while now and don’t take dairy. Recently due to lockdown freakouts there wasn’t any oats milk left so I was using the dairy milk of my flat mate. Three days into only drinking my tea and coffee with dairy milk and boom I get acne. Stopped it and was immediately okay again!

What one food is your acne trigger?

So I had acne prone combination skin but since I’ve started using a retinol it’s gotten dry, especially in winter it’s very dry. I’m looking for a rich moisturizer that’s very hydrating and don’t mind a dewy finish for acne prone dry skin.

Hydration for acne prone dry skin

It’s too light weight for winter and doesnt give the hydration i need at night. I would recommend this only as a day cream and layer up with other hydrating serums and oils during winter.

I got this products because it was recommended to me for having very dry skin. It’s light weight and has the form of a translucent gel rather than a cream. It absorbs quickly and leaves the face feeling soft, subtly and springy. The niacinamide within the cream brightens your face, helps with acne and makes your pores appear small. It is suitable for people with ance prone skin. The panthenol helps sooth the skin and helps with irritations and it is compatible for layering with any active irgendients and goes well under a sunscreen witout pilling. Overall i recommend this to to both people with dry and oily acne prone skin as a day cream.

Left my skin flaky at first (see the during photo) and has changed my skin type from combo to dry, I only used it on my t zone. Make sure to use an extremely good moisturizer.

A literal life saver. Cleared my skin up extremely quickly from acne. The pictures shown were taken less than a month apart.

Its relatively mild for me, i use a retinol at night and swap it for a vitamin c in morning at times meaning i don’t reep the full benefits, although my pores appear small and free from blackheads.

When using regularly (twice a day) it made my skin really soft, when using once a day it keeps my pores free from blackheads.

It’s quite harsh and left my skin feeling tight an dry. Stripped my skin of any hydration. Cannot recommend for skin that isn’t extremely oily.
