yes,purging exist.purging usually happened when you use active ingredients like glycolic acid,salicylic acid,benzoyl peroxide,retinol and so on.i believe in purging because i did use benzoyl peroxide on my pimple and then my pimple is gone.In the next day pimple come back on the same spot and then i keep on using benzoyl peroxide after 3 days it was gone.hope based on my experience may help 😊

I don't know about other acids, but at least purging due to retinoids is apparently very rare according to dermatologist Dr. Ranella Hirsch. 🤔 check out her post!
