i dont have any mattifying products so i always try to make sure my skin is well hydrated to balance that sebum production and use oil controlling moisturizer (thanks to its tea tree)

this is probably the best advice. if you can balance your skin you don't need a mattifying product.
just use products that offer a light hydrating effect, with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, treat tree oil and gel like textures and your own skin will regulate it's oil production

I usually use a zinc based tone up Sunscreen in the first place to control sebum and then I use a powder pact to seal it.

Ah I usually just have SPF in my day cream as live in the UK! The sun doesn't come out to play enough here 😅
