Clean Collection Glow AHA Toner
I'm gonna have to be a little biased towards this toner since I had a negative experience with it. It literally burned my neck! It looked like a severe rash or something, which was very itchy and painful. I only ever used it twice a week and I guess my skin was not able to take the strength of the actives in this product.
My personal experience aside, the toner looks promising as it's comprised of:
- Glycolic Acid (10%)
- Lactic Acid (3%)
- Salicylic Acid (2%)
Now this is called a toner, but it's actually kinda confusing since it's not meant to be used on a daily basis. On top of that, it's a lot thicker than the serum in their Clean Collection line. So yeah, I'm not sure how this should've been labeled but it definitely is, by my own standards, not what I would consider a "toner".
When I went online to check why it affected my skin adversely, I stumbled upon Dr. Vanita Rattan's YouTube video on how Glycolic Acid can be too much for people with skin of color. I guess I'm the one to blame and I should've done my research first before diving into such active products. Good thing the burn/irritation on my neck didn't leave any scars/discoloration and just went away when I stopped using this toner.
So yeah, like what anyone within their sane mind would do, I stopped using it. I don't suggest for people with brown or dark skin to use this as this would be more suitable to those with fair to light skin tone.
