I definitely prefer this serum over castor oil as that tends to be heavier, stickier and even makes my vision cloudy. The Romand lash serum does not affect my vision nor cause any irritation (and I have a very watery left eye). While most serums use castor oil, there is insufficient scientific proof that castor oil provides anything more than a thicker appearance from coating the lashes. Any oil would do that anyway. I am tracking both the longest lashes (9mm) and the average lashes (5.5mm). After 1 week of use, I did not notice any change in the length of my lashes. There has been a slight change in volume though. These things do take time. I would rather be patient than risk eye irritation from overly potent ingredients. After 2 weeks, the average lash length increased to 7mm and the longest lashes reached 10mm. I would keep on using this as it seems to be working (albeit slowly) and I still have a lot left in the tube.
