Lactic Acid 10% + HA
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐢𝐝 𝟏𝟎%+ 𝐇𝐀:
•the superstar in this formula is obviously lactic acid, which gently lifts dead skin cell to reveal smoother skin. Lactic acid is good for dry skin due to its humectant qualities - it has AMAZING skin hydrating properties. In this higher concentration, it can help tackle winkles and improve skin firmness
•glycerin is a natural moisturiser that keeps the skin lipids between our skin cells healthy, protects against irritation and helps restore our skin barrier. Awesome at treating dry skin
•sodium hyaluronate can hold onto water and provide long term moisturising benefits, good for dehydrated skin
•tasmannia lanceolata fruit extract can relieved itching and burning by a great extent - this helps combat the usual irritation that is usually occurs with high percentage of exfoliating acids. It is anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and has antimicrobial properties
𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐢𝐝 𝟏𝟎% + 𝐇𝐀:
•stimulates cell and collagen renewal
•improves skin texture
•improves skin’s natural moisture factor
•help with signs of aging
•even out skin tone
𝐌𝐲 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞:
This was one of my first form of AHA’s on the skin. I used it once a week and within two months, I saw many benefits - my bumpy skin had started to smooth significantly, my acne scars had began to fade but most importantly, my dry skin LOVED THIS. After every use, my skin felt so hydrated and soft. I’m quite young so signs of aging was not a target for me, yet I did have an apparent smile line near my lips. It hasn’t gone, but it is less visible. I also loved the use of hydrators in this serum as it just makes it perfect for dry and dehydrated skin. The smell of this product is quite minimal, and the colour is beautiful (a reminder that the colours not the same amongst all bathes as the fruit extract varies in colour through seasons). It absorbs really quickly, and only leaves a little bit of a sticky residue - this is bearable compared to many other products from the ordinary.
Though the fruit extract was designed to reduce irritation, it didn’t have much effect for me. The first few weeks caused purging and breakouts which subsided shortly after. Sensitive skin types might want to be more careful as it can leave a stinging sensation at first. To be honest, I do think I should’ve started with a low percentage (5%) lactic acid to begin my journey with AHA’s. Apart from that being my only downside, I do love this product and recommend it to many.
Make sure to wear SPF with this product, and a week after you stop using the product or all the benefits from the serum can be rendered less effective.
