Honey Serum
When I was battling with moderate acne, I tried a propolis ampoule from an unpopular brand. My skin didn't like it. So, I shied away from products with propolis or honey. Fast forward to 2019, I found Dr. Dray's channel and she talked about the benefits of Manuka Honey on skin. If you don't know yet, I'm a fan of Dr. Dray. Hehe! She shared that 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐤𝐚 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 is known for its antimicrobial properties and that it has studies to back it up. It got me excited to try this!
Based on reviews, this product is suitable for 𝐝𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐞. So, having an oily skin type, I applied this at night only. I feel that it effectively locks in moisture with the thin and glossy barrier it creates, but still allowing the skin to breathe. 2 pumps is actually already a generous amount for face and neck. I reduced it to one pump only which I feel is the sweet spot for my oily skin. The smoothening effect it gives is similar to a 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐫.
When you touch your skin after application, it feels like it's still damp. I like that. Pillow sheets are also marked safe the next morning. My only qualm is its scent. It doesn't smell like the 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 that I'm familiar with. I'd usually warm serums/creams on my hand, then spread it to my face resting my palms on eye area. It 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐬 one time, so I'm now careful to avoid applying it near eye area.
I'm happy my oily skin didn't react violently with this. I'm open to trying more products containing honey. Honey gang where you at? 💛 This will stay in my shelf as an occasional nightly moisturizer.
Glow effect may be too much for people with oily skin type.
