It is essential oil and fragrance-free, not having any particular smell. It has a very thick consistency, forms a layer over the skin and has a tacky finish. It feels nourishing and very occlusive on the skin. Definitely a product for dry skin type. I think I'm going to use it as night cream/mask because it feels too heavy as a day cream.
