Cryo-Flash Cream Mask
I received the Clarins Cryo-flash mask in a 15ml/0.5oz sample size for free from Influenster & Clarins in exchange for my honest review. Note that the full sized version is 2.5oz and retails for $80.
This is a 10 minute icy cold mask powered by an exclusive “Cryo-Starter Technology” to provide instant results:
🔸 Visible lift effect
🔸 Skin radiance boost
🔸 Minimize look of pores
Brand states that it can be used by all skin types.
Key Ingredients:
🔸 Methone Glycerin Acetal (MGA)
🔸 Shea butter
🔸 Horse Chestnut Seed
🔸 Vitamin E
🔸 Citric acid
🔸 Quinoa Seed extract
🔸 Edelweiss
🔸 Evening Primrose
Mask is intended to be used 2-3x per week, by applying a thick layer on face, leaving on for 10 minutes before removing with tissue. I was only able to use the sample size 2x total.
Mask has a gel-cream texture, fairly lightweight with a minty scent. It is easy to apply, although it was a little difficult to squeeze out of the sample tube (I think full size is in jar form).
There is an immediate cooling effect once applied. Clarins claims it lowers temperature by 7 degrees Fahrenheit. The MGA ingredient is an active cooling agent that is an alternative to menthol, which can be irritating.
I kept it on for 10 minutes, then washed whatever remained with water. It seemed to absorb into my skin though, so not much to remove.
After trying it out, my skin initially felt smooth and hydrated. Pores on my nose appeared smaller, but I didn’t notice any skin firming benefits.
I did experience a reaction after using, although my skin isn’t particularly sensitive. I saw some breakouts on the cheeks and both sides of my face after using the 2nd time, so I must have sensitivity to one of the ingredients. (Assume the MGA as I’ve never had issues with Shea butter or Citric acid)
I like using wash off masks but because of the reaction and high price, I wouldn’t purchase.
It does contain Shea butter and Citric acid which can be sensitizing for some.
I did experience irritation but don’t think it was from these particular ingredients as I’ve been using products with Shea butter and citric acid for years without any issues.
