La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 is a must-have for anyone using retinoids, especially during the purging phase. As we go through purging, our skin may develop all sorts of bumps, redness, peeling, and irritation. I personally have struggled with severe acne caused by tretinoin purging, and I've had a love-hate relationship with this cream. I slather it on my skin once a week and also when I need it. Sometimes, I dislike how it's too thick and greasy, and my hair sticks to my face, not to mention it leaves a white cast. However, the morning after, I love how it calms my redness, and my irritation is gone. I didn't observe any effects on my acne, despite claims that it helped minimize it. Nevertheless, this is my go-to cream for rapid skin recovery. Will I buy it again? Yes, as long as I am using tretinoin. I require this for my weekly slugging routine.
