SKIN1004 - NutButterToast review for Madagascar Centella Probio-Cica Bakuchiol Eye Cream

Centella is a wonderful and powerful ingredient that can be used to treat a wide variety of skin conditions, such as eczema, irritation, acne, dullness, dryness, and redness. It’s basically a fix-all ingredients, which is why I love to use it in my routine. -> Squalane Squalane is naturally present in the sebum of our skin, which means that it is basically the ‘goop’ that keeps our skin moisturized. Because squalane is a natural ingredient, it is suitable for even the most sensitive of skin types. -> Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter Shea Butter is commonly seen in African cosmetics, where the ingredient has been praised for centuries. Shea Butter is moisturizing, soothing, and is rich in antioxidant to promote a healthy and strong skin barrier. It can function as an emollient and trap moisture inside the skin (which is why it’s often added to moisturizers and occlusives). -> Bakuchiol Bakuchiol is a relatively newly discovered ingredient. It is a natural component of plant extracts, and has been shown to function similarly to the world-famous retinol on the skin. Although bakuchiol is not a form of vitamin A (which retinol is), it helps to boost skin elasticity by increasing collagen production, and thus reducing the appearance and development of fine lines and wrinkles. Other noteworthy goodies that I found on the ingredient list: niacinamide, Lactobacillus/Centella Asiatica Extract Ferment Filtrate, panthenol, adenosine, sodium hyaluronate, ceramide NP ☆ 𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙏𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 Naturally, the first thing I noticed about this product is the applicator. The product comes in a squeezable tube with a little smooth knob applicator at the end. It allows for hands-free applying, which I love! The applicator is nice to use and allows for even distribution and proper absorption of the eye cream. After the first use, I noticed no irritation or burning. I have very sensitive skin, especially around my eye area, so I was a bit nervous. However, I’m very pleasantly surprised with how gentle this formula is! ☆ 𝙈𝙮 𝙀𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 In terms of effectiveness, I haven’t seen a major difference in my eye area. My dark circles are still very much there. However, I’ve only used the eye cream for roughly 2-3 weeks by now, which is obviously too short to see any big changes in my complexion. After applying this cream, the skin around my eyes felt soft and hydrated. It does not feel sticky or heavy at all, and as I mentioned before, I love the applicator which makes it more fun and enjoyable to use. Although I enjoyed using this, I unfortunately noticed a slight increase in redness under my eyes. This went away when I stopped using the product daily, telling me it was the cause of my issues. My eyes also have been feeling dry… however, I cannot say that this is because of the eye cream as this can have many other causes. My guess is that the reason my skin reacted badly to this product is due to the presence of fermented ingredients, which my skin absolutely hates.
