Rovectin kindly sent me a pack of their Lotus Sheet Masks to try and review and my dehydrated combo skin really enjoys it! It’s super thin, but squishy and adheres well. -The hydrating and brightening effect is impressive! Thanks to the following star ingredients, along with Niacinamide, Xylitol (humectant that can optimize water reserves), Heartleaf and without frag or drying alc. 1.) glutathione ˌglü-tə-ˈthī-ˌōn -A peptide that contains one amino acid residue each of glutamic acid, cysteine, and glycine, occurs in plant and animal tissues, and that plays an important role in biological oxidation-reduction processes (the basic process of cell activity) and as a coenzyme. Glutathione is an antioxidant that occurs naturally in skin, where its function is to help defend against visible signs of environmental cell damage. It’s believed that the gradual decline of glutathione in skin is one of the factors that contributes to external signs of aging. It helps to speed up cell turnover. Great if you want to improve skin texture, tone and uneven pigmentation (e.g. post-inflammatory pigmentation or sun spots) 2.) Nelumbo Nucifera [Bot.], also known as the Indian Lotus or Sacred Lotus, is a species of aquatic plant in the family Nelumbonaceae. It is native to tropical Asian countries and Australia. The plant is culturally significant in many Eastern religions like Buddhism and Hinduism, symbolizing purity, grace, and beauty. Aside from its religious importance, it is also renowned for its medicinal properties and culinary uses. Lotus is high in Vitamin B and C, ferulic acid and protein, all of which assist to keep the skin healthy and clean. Lotus contains brightening, anti-inflammatory and antiwrinkle antioxidants (phenols, flavonoids). Great to target fine lines, dullness and redness.
