Ever since I tried a sample of Tatcha Rice Polish Foaming Enzyme Powder, I’ve been *dying* to buy the full size. At $65 that’s like 8 ChickFilA meals or a pair of shoes for this SAHM, so I kept putting it off. I happened upon DHC Skincare‘s Face Wash Powder at Target for $12.59 & had a gift card, so it was a no brainer that I had to try it, bc science experiment, yenno? And that’s 80% off the Tatcha price, so SCORE! Let me share what I’ve discovered in 3+ months. DHC’s philosophy honors the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi, which teaches the beauty in imperfection. Their goal is to help you feel beautiful in your own skin. In order to do that, DHC encourages the J-beauty tradition of Double Cleansing. This Face Wash Powder makes a fab 2nd cleanse! It transforms from a powder to a rich foam w/ just a bit of water, & is formulated w/ the following to cleanse, gently exfoliate, & hydrate for a smoother complexion: *Silica- gentle exfoliation. *Protease Enzymes- dissolves dead skin. *Lavender Flower & Licorice Root Extracts- calms + soothes skin. *Honey- softens + moisturizes, & naturally antibacterial + antioxidant rich. *Sodium Hyaluronate- derivative of HA; nourishes moisture barrier. It cleanses completely & leaves no trace behind. I’ve noticed cleaner pores, softer skin, & a slightly more even tone when using this product. I experience no purging when I rotate this wash in + out of my routine, so that combined w/ its powder consistency makes it perfect for travel! I noticed immediately that the powder is not *quite* as finely milled as Tatcha’s Rice Polish, nor does it exfoliate as well or have any type of rice in the ingredient list. That is not a dealbreaker for me, though, due to the cost savings & the fact Tatcha claims to be an exfoliant only. Unfortunately, I have not found a Rice Polish dupe, but I have found a cleanser that feels dreamy & provides a nice exfoliation at an unbeatable price.🤗
