I was given the opportunity to try this in a giveaway from Choc Choc and Picky. Choc Choc Cosmetics is a small AAPI and Woman-owned business, selling Korean skincare products in the Chicago area. This essence is their first product they have created and launched. 🌾Claims: Rice Power Essence contains skin-loving ingredients and the combination of rice bran extract, idebenone and mushroom collagen work together to hydrate, firm and brighten the skin. Rice bran extract contains minerals, vitamins E, A, B1, B6, and many other nutrients that help your skin become hydrated and supple. Idebenone is often called, “Botox you can apply” due to its amazing antioxidant properties: it has 4 times more antioxidants than Vitamin C and 10 times more than coenzymes. Vegan mushroom collagen from Tremella fuciformis (also known as Snow Fungus) is known for its small molecular qualities that facilitate absorption into the skin. Choc Choc strives to use only clean and safe ingredients in their products. It is free of 20 harmful ingredients with no PEG, No Artificial Color, No Artificial Fragrance, No Ethanol, No Silicone, No parabens, No mineral Oil, Cruelty-Free, and it is Vegan. 🌾Key Ingredients: Antioxidant : Contains 55.1% Oryza sativa (rice) bran extract, Hydroxydecyl Ubiquinone (Idebenone), Tremella fuciformis sporocarp extract (snow mushroom), Portulaca Oleracea Extract (Purslane), Madecassoside and Asiaticoside Moisturizing: Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ceramide NP Soothing Properties: Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, Adenosine, Madecassoside, Beta-Glucan, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil Skin brightening: Niacinamide 🌾Texture: Light gel texture (like a serum) immediately after dispensing product, becomes more watery consistency as it melts into the skin and has no fragrance. 🌾Packaging: clear plastic bottle with an airless pump to protect product and prevent excessive exposure to air. The bottle shows a 3-year shelf life! It was easy to disperse the product (I used 2 pumps for face and neck) 🌾My Review: I have used this essence for about 10 days both in the AM and PM. Rice bran is a rich source of over 100 antioxidant compounds and is a popular ingredient for both Korean and Japanese skin care products. This was my first time using a K-Beauty rice extract product. I used it after my normal essence, but before serum, moisturizer, SPF etc. When I first put it on, it soaked into the skin quickly and my skin felt smooth and nourished. I’ve noticed my skin looks more even toned and brighter after using, even though I haven’t used it very long . I am very impressed with the potent antioxidant-rich extracts and skin soothing ingredients, like idebenone, mushroom extract, madecassoside, beta-glucan, sodium hyaluronate, ceramide np, betaine, and adenosine, all that help to nourish, soothe, protect and brighten the skin. I think all skin types could use this product, due to the clean and gentle ingredient list. I really like this essence and I plan to purchase it to support this woman-owned AAPI business once I finish using. Cost is $25.
