Hello Picky Community! 

I’ve been incorporating niacinamide more into my routine. Niacinamide is known for helping with oil control, pore-care, and hyperpigmentation. It’s a fantastic ingredient for those who have acne, enlarged or clogged pores, acne scars. 

However, I notice my skin has been feeling rather tingly after using a product containing niacinamide. I stopped using TO 10% Niacinamide + 1% Zinc serum because I thought the high concentration was triggering the burning/tingly sensation. The only product that is leave on and contains niacinamide is the Oil Free moisturizer. 

The products I use in my nightly routine are listed below. I don’t exactly use niacinamide much during the day. I exfoliate about 2-3 times a week, during my night routine. I don’t use the benzoyl peroxide on the nights I exfoliate. 

Has anyone else experienced a similar reaction with niacinamide?

Hi everyone! I’m just curious, what is your favourite Korean skincare product(s)? Why do you like them, and have they helped?

Favourite Korean Product?

It left my face with the little white specs. I believe it is from the zinc oxide itself that. It didn’t work for my skin type. It may work for others though.

This CeraVe SPF 30 moisturizer is a affordable which is good. I thought the consistency was alright until I put it on my face. The white cast is strong with this sunscreen.

This is one of the best products from Paula’s Choice! I use this as a spot treatment for my occasional breakouts. It has done wonders for me! The ingredients list is amazing! I am so happy I got my hands on it!

Cons for the Thinkbaby SPF 50+ Sunscreen 

❌ Extreme white cast - Not for people of colour. 
❌ Does not absorb or apply easily - this is due to the high concentration of zinc oxide. 

This SPF had it all, I just wish it didn’t leave a thick white cast. 🥲

In the photos below, the white cast doesn’t show as much on my hand but it is visible on the face, especially for people of colour.

Pros for the Thinkbaby SPF 50+ Sunscreen 

✅ Affordable - purchased this product for $18.00 CAD (approx $15-16 USD).
✅ Reasonable size - 89mL or approx 3 fl oz.
✅ Mineral&#47;physical sunscreen - 20% zinc oxide, it is a low risk skin sensitizing ingredient, an antioxidant and skin-soothing ingredient. 
✅ Stellar ingredient list - aloe barbadensis leaf juice, pine wood resin (good for inflammation), sunflower oil, jojoba oil, asorbic acid (Vitamin C), tocoperois (Vitamin E), and hyaluronic acid. 
✅ Non-greasy - safe for people who have oily skin.

This SPF has a bit of a smell to it. It isn’t too strong but just to inform you that some people may not like the scent.

This product has been the best SPF for my skin. I started with a CeraVe SPF and I did not like how it was very patchy and had a whitecast. This SPF from Paula’s Choice has a bit of a beige&#47;light tan colour which is good for people of color, like myself. It is an affordable SPF with great consistency and contains soothing ingredients. I love how it gives my skin a little glow in the sun. It is my far the best sunscreen I have come accorss so far!

There isn’t too much of a downside to this product. Note: this product should NOT be used when layering retinol on the skin. It can cause redness and irritation if you do combine this product and retinol.

This is my favourite exfoliate and most likely one of my favourite products from Paula’s Choice. After a month using this product every other day, I could see a difference in the size of my pores. This exfoliate is a chemical one and is a leave on product which can be used during the day and the night. I began to use this product during my daytime and night time routine to maximize my chances of getting the results that I want. It is definitely a prodcit that works for oily, combination and normal skin types.
