I’ll be honest, toner is the one skincare product that I’ve ALWAYS avoided and have only purchased once and never used bc I feel like it just saps my skin of all moisture. What is the ACTUAL point of it? Is it a super crucial step in your skincare routine?

Am I the only one that is scared of/doesn’t use toner?

I tried retinol for the first time ever, specifically the L’Oréal Revitalift Retinol + Niacinamide cream, and it dried my skin to a crisp! So many little dry patches all over my face, redness, and overall sensitivity. 

I knew to expect some skin purging but I made sure to sandwich moisturizers, and moisturized heavily before/after. Is this normal or is my skin not cut out for it?

I feel like I’ve tried everything and even when I feel like FINALLY my face is lookin’ hydrated, plump, and glowy, a day later it goes straight back to being red and full of weird dry spots around my mouth and nose. Does anyone have 1 holy grail product, or combo of products, that has true lasting effects?!

What is are the BEST products to fix your skin barrier? Nothing has lasting effects for me!

This toner is one of the more unique products I’ve tried in a while and I did not know what to expect!

this is the main ingredient and one I’ve never tried in skincare before and now I’m wondering why since it has so many amazing benefits - it’s jam-packed with beta-carotene, antioxidants, nutrients, vitamins and more to moisturize and calm red, sensitive skin, reduce dark spots, and give your skin a beautiful glow!

💭 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 💭
I LOVE how thick, fluffy, and waffley these water pads are, and they are absolutely saturated with product! First thing I did was put them in the fridge to give that amazing cooling effect when I put them on! The way you’re meant to use them is you’re supposed to take two pads and stick them on each cheek and let them marinate (lol) for 10 mins. These have been incredible during the dry, windy, cold Canadian winter we’ve been experiencing, which leaves my skin feeling dry, chapped, red, and hot after a day outside. The scent is lightly herbal (sage?) and slightly medicinal but in the BEST way - they smell like a natural/health food store. Personally, that is one of my favourite smells ever so not only do these calm my skin, but my nerves and stress as well 💆🏽‍♀️

I’m allergic to most Western sunscreens because they don’t often use modern UV filters like Korean beauty does. Unfortunately, I was surprised to find one of those bad UV filters in this product, homosalate, which is a weak UV filter, not photostable, and mimics estrogen. Also it only provides SPF30, whereas for my fact I’m usually looking for a 50. I’m bummed about these negatives because otherwise, I loved the fact that this has 10 kinds of HA in it, which my dry skin would absolutely drink up!

This sunscreen is extremely moisturizing as it contains 10 different types of hyaluronic acid! It is a perfect consistency- not too thin or thick - that glides onto your skin and absorbs quickly.

These incredibly moisturizing lip balms are made with vitamin E and grape seed oil and are plant-derived, vegan, and cruelty-free and GMO-free. The pigments they use are also made with natural ingredients!

Authentic is hydrating sheer pink color that subtly enhances the natural colour of your lips! It almost seems like the colour develops slowly and is definitely eventually more pink than what it looks like in the tube. It was also super hydrating. The colour applied beautifully, wasn’t patchy, and stayed on for quite a long time for a balm. The metal packaging is extremely luxurious and has a magnetic close. The formula is also made of extremely high quality ingredients and doesn’t contain fragrance. 

Given this product's target market of those with dry and sensitive skin, I was sort of shocked to find it contained alcohol, which is drying. It also contains fragrance, limonene and linalool, which can also be irritating.

This sunscreen was formulated specifically for dry and sensitive skin while also offering SPF50+ PA++++ sun protection. It also claims to brighten skin with 10 types of vitamins and glutathione (plus it also contains niacinamide & ascorbic acid); diminish blemishes; and moisturize and soothe skin with hyaluronic acid, panthenol, and bioflavonoids. The texture is sort of runny and milky, making it really easy to spread onto the skin and absorb quickly.

There are 5 UV filters in this sunscreen, 3 of which are new generation chemical agents and offer high UVA protection & high photostability, 1 is silicone-based and has a high UVB range absorbance, and the last 1 is a L'Oréal-group exclusive sunscreen agent commonly called Mexoryl SX with a high UVA absorbance.

I liked that it was tinted, however, the tint is too yellow for my skin and it doesn’t even out my skin tone. It’s a bit thick too and leaves a bit of a white cast.

I was most excited to try this one because I’m always on the hunt for good mineral sunscreens, and I thought the key ingredients in this one were so unique! Yam root is basically vegan snail mucin! It’s super hydrating, soothing, and tackles hyperpigmentation.
