When you're inside the cabin, the moisture is very low which causes your skin to get extremely dry. 

To avoid this, before you get on the plane, have a simple routine ready to go. 

Also, when on air, you are even closer to the sun. So pack on the Sunscreen! 

For night travel: 

1. Double cleansing: Oil cleanse to take off makeup and sunscreen followed by cleanser 

2. Use a sheet mask (optional) 

3. Followed by a moisturizer. 

4. Then lock it in with an Occlusive 
(healing ointment) so there is no 
trans-epidermal water loss.

5. Apply a thick layer of Vaseline for lips


Pro tip: Your hands can get dry too! So always have a hand cream in your bag. 

For AM: All you need is a moisturizing Sunscreen. You don't have to do anything extra.

✓ SPF 30 or higher is recommended by the American Academy of Dermatology.

✓ SPF 30 alone blocks upto 96% of sun rays. 

✓ Visible reduction in sunspots and photoaging.

✓ Significant improvement in the appearance of melasma and hyperpigmentation.

✓ Reduces risk of skin cancer.

✓ You must re-apply every 2 hours as SPF effectiveness reduces overtime.

✓ Sunscreen should be applied even on rainy and cloudy days as UV rays are still being emitted.

Sunscreen Facts 🌦️

First and foremost, make sure your base is good. That is, apply Sunscreen thoroughly covering all areas (face, ears, around your eyes, neck and chest). 

For reapplication on top of makeup, several formulations of sunscreen are available. 

🥇Compact powders & Foundation with SPF!  (This is quite easy to use because all you need to do is touch up your makeup)

🥈Brush Sunscreen (You can choose  "invisible finish" or  find one that matches your skin tone)

🥉Spray Sunscreen! 
(Tip: you can use a compact sponge to even out the sunscreen after spraying)

Re-apply Sunscreen correctly!

For AM: 

✓ Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ on the back of your hands. 

✓ Wear UV gloves as it keeps your hands protected from the sun while you're walking or driving. 

For PM: 

step 1. Apply pea-sized amount of Tretinoin cream of any strength of your choosing. 

step 2. Followed by a hand cream.

Some other tips: 

a. When cleaning dishes use dish-washing gloves. 

b. Don't over-wash your hands. 

c. Moisturize your hands immediately after you wash your hands.

P.S: If you do not have access to Tretinoin, then I would strongly suggest Adapalene gel.

Anti-aging routine for Hands

What are the causes of a damaged barrier?

1. TOO MUCH OF PHYSICAL EXFOLIATION - 
for eg: using harsh face brushes and scrubs.

2. EXCESSIVE USE OF ACTIVES - like salicylic acid, glycolic acid etc. 

3. OVER USING of ACNE products - such as Benzoyl peroxide & Retinoids.

Others: UV rays, pollution, stress, frequent face washing, using harsh cleansers that strip off natural oils and smoking.

Remember: Too much of anything isn't good. Avoid all extremes.

How to treat? 

✔️ STOP ALL PRODUCTS that are further drying & irritating your skin!

✔️ Next, look for products rich in CERAMIDES. This ingredient is what will help you to repair your barrier.

✔️ Products containing Hyaluronic Acid also helps in such cases.

✔️ Finally, you need Emollients to help lock in everything to prevent transepidermal water loss.

Restore your Skin Barrier!

I would say it is a bit pricey and sometimes you need to re-apply a couple of times.

I get severe cracked lips due to the dry weather and this lip balm has been of great help. 100% recommend!

I wouldn&#39;t recommend using this more than 3 times a week as it can be quite drying! You will also undergo a purging stage, so if you&#39;re a beginner, start with once a week!

It contains 2% Salicylic Acid and it&#39;s super affordable! When I first started a skincare regimen as a beginner, this was one the very first products I bought. It brightened my skin, reduced the size of my pores, got rid of whiteheads and controlled my acne.

I wouldn&#39;t apply this on my face as it can clog your pores, so instead I use this as a body sunscreen 🤗

No white cast, mild fragrance, gel-like texture and absorbs quickly!

As I have a brown skin tone, it left me with a visible white cast, even after rubbing it in thoroughly. Unfortunately this ain&#39;t it for those who fall between Fitzpatrick types IV-VI
(that is medium brown to very dark skin tones)

A physical sunscreen that has a lightweight texture and I&#39;d strongly recommend using this on your body. It&#39;s fragrance free, non-comedogenic and it&#39;s quite moisturizing!

It has a weird pungent smell when you first apply it but it quickly fades away.

I am genuinely surprised by this product! It was my first time adding this into my skincare routine and so far I am impressed. It removes dead skin cells and is suitable for brown to deep skin tones!
