Vitamin A-mazing Bakuchiol Night Cream
Gentle cream that helps smooth and plump my skin. Bakuchiol offers similar benefits as retinol without any irritation.
Sharonspendstoomuch
I received this product for free from Picky and By Wishtrend in exchange for my honest review. This night cream features 1% Bakuchiol, a plant-based retinol alternative extracted from the Babchi plant that claims to provide a similar effect as retinol without irritation. It also contains 0.03% retinal, the most powerful & stable Vitamin A product available without a prescription, that is 11x stronger than retinol. They work together to improve skin texture, & target signs of aging. Other Key Ingredients: 💜 Betaine 💛 Niacinamide 💜 Macadamia seed oil 💛 Adenosine 💜 Hyaluronic Acid (2types) 💛 Ceramide NP 💜 Tocopherol Packaging/Texture: 30ml purple bottle (color of Babchi flowers) with yellow airless pump dispenser. Cream is bright yellow (natural color of retinal) with a thick creamy texture & no noticeable scent. My Experience: This is marketed as a product for new retinol users or those with sensitive skin. That being said you should start out slow, 1 pump no more than 2x a week at night only. (More experienced users maybe 3x). Be sure to patch test and stop using if you experience irritation. I’ve been using every other night for about 2 weeks, applying in PM using 1-2 pumps, patting until fully absorbed. The rich creamy texture is more like a balm & applies easily. It does feel slightly tacky on my skin, but it isn’t greasy & nicely moisturizes skin with an occlusive feel. Now that the temperature is warmer, I don’t need to add moisturizer, but probably would in winter when my skin is more dry. Skin feels soft, smooth & looks plump & nourished the next morning when I wake up. I have not experienced any redness, flakiness or dry patches, but consider myself an experienced retinal/retinol user. I normally use another brand that has an 0.1% strength retinal 3x a week, so this is a little too gentle for me personally. I’ll probably alternate this with my normal retinal product since my skin can tolerate without irritation. I’ve enjoyed using it in my nightly routine, but do prefer my other brand. With continuous & consistent use, this night cream can improve skin elasticity, the appearance of dull skin & fine lines/wrinkles. Retinal is really the key ingredient, but assume the brand focused on Bakuchiol instead because it’s the current buzz ingredient, is a vegan alternative & quite gentle. Note that this is not safe for pregnant women & be sure to use an SPF during the day.

Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment
I’ve used so many bottles of this treatmen even though It is expensive. It tingles a little bit when you apply it, but skin looks bright and smooth after using. If my skin looks dull, I’ll apply this treatment as it appears to minimize my pores and make my skin look glowing. It was the first product I tried from Sunday Riley and one of the only items that I think is worth the money.

The Vitamin C23 Serum
This was a good Vitamin C product but the PAO is short. I only used about 2/3 of it by the 2 month date. Even though I kept it refrigerated, it did start to oxidize slightly. If they reformulated it into smaller vials I’d repurchase as it did a good job brightening up my skin. It does have that funky “meat” smell.

I was lucky enough to selected by Cosrx to review one of their three new Derm Serums. I was gifted the Vitamin C23 Serum which I have been using for about 12-14 days so far, so this will be more of a 1st impression review. Update 9July: I found out a week after I received the Vitamin C Serum from Cosrx that I had also been chosen for a StyleKorean TMRM promotion & would receive all 3 serums, so I was extra lucky as I had a good first impression of this serum and now I have 2!! This serum is described as a highly concentrated 23% pure vitamin C serum that provides the anti-aging benefits of Vitamin C with minimal irritation. I was excited to try this serum since I have some sensitivity to Vitamin C products with a high percentage of L-ascorbic acid. Claims: ▪️Fades acne & hyperpigmentation ▪️Brightens complexion & evens skin tone ▪️Diminishes fine lines & wrinkles ▪️Firms & plumps skin Key Ingredients: ▪️Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) ▪️Tocotrienols (Super Vitamin E) ▪️Sodium Hyaluronate ▪️Allantoin Packaging: 20ml dark brown bottle with glass pipette Texture: Oil with watery consistency, pale yellow in color. No added fragrance but has the same scent as other Vitamin C products that fades quickly. PAO: 2 Months. It is suggested to refrigerate to maintain freshness My Experience: I’ve been using this in the AM only, before moisturizer and sunscreen. I apply 2-3 drops into my hands and massage into my skin. It is very lightweight, & spreads easily onto the skin. I do feel a slight tingle after application, while it isn’t sticky, it does feel a little tacky on the skin until it fully absorbs. It also layers well with other products, without any pilling. I had heard of Tocopherol (Vit E) before, but not Tocotrienols. I did some research and found out that they are also potent forms of vitamin E that are considered stable and powerful antioxidants. Tocotrienols have skin soothing agents & helps even skin tone. When combined with Vitamin C, it in double the antioxidant ammunition to fight damage from free radicals and more UV damage than products containing vitamin C by itself. Sodium hyaluronate attracts moisture & reduces inflammation. Allantoin soothes and protects the skin & reduces irritation. It also has some other great antioxidant ingredients like 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, Caffeine, Tocopherol, Safflower seed oil, & carrot root extract, as well as brightening ingredients like niacinamide & licorice root extract. I have not experienced any burning issues & no irritation so far. I have not noticed any significant improvement in hyperpigmentation yet in the short time I’ have used this serum, but my skin appears brighter & more even toned. I will definitely continue to use to see the long-term effects. UPDATE 9July: I’ve now been using this serum for close to a month (AM only). I’m now using it daily, applying 2-3 drops onto my skin. When I first started using the serum, I did feel a very slight tingle after applying, but don’t notice anything now, other than a slight tacky feel on the skin until it completely absorbs. It does have that funky smell other Vit C products have (meat/iron scent), but I’m used to the scent, and it fades quickly. Packaging reminds me of The Ordinary. I have noticed that my skin looks brighter & more even toned with a smoother texture. I’m also starting to see slight reduction in dark spots as well.

Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30
If you are prone to redness, this is a great product, as it neutralizes any discoloration and evens out the skin tone. It does take some practice and effort to apply it, but the green color will adjust to look more natural. There are several videos online that show you the best way to apply to get the right coverage. I would wear this instead of foundation. It is expensive and I haven’t replaced yet as it is a little hard to find lately.

Botaretinol Youth Repair Solution
This is a nice product, didn’t irritate and I liked how I had a mini version for travel plus a full sized version.
Sharonspendstoomuch
I received this product for free from Picky in exchange for my honest review. This is a new brand for me, and included a full sized 35ml airtight container with a pump, plus 3 10ml travel sized containers. This product features Retinyl Retinoate, which is a newer, more advanced form of Vitamin A that combines retinol & retinoic acid. It is believed to be more stable & less irritating than other retinoids. It can be 8x more effective in speeding up collagen production. It targets fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation & helps improve skin elasticity & brightening. Other Key Ingredients include Niacinamide, Centella Asiatica, Hyaluronic Acid, Aloe Vera, Adenosine, Turmeric & Tocopherol. I’ve been using this retinol product for almost 3 weeks now, applying at night only 3-4x per week. My skin is used to retinol products, so if you are new to using, please test first & start slow maybe 1-2x a week to ensure no irritation. To open the full sized bottle, you twist until the center pops up, then apply to face & neck, avoiding eye area. I use one full pump. It has a lightweight creamy almost gel-like texture with no noticeable scent. It glides onto the skin smoothly, with a slight tacky touch until it fully absorbs (maybe 1 minute). It is silky & hydrating on the skin, making it feel smooth & soft to the touch. Skin appears more supple & brighter. I didn’t experience any dryness or irritation, in fact I find it quite gentle & good for all skin types. I really like this retinol so far, as it has several antioxidant & anti-aging properties. I would highly recommend & will continue using to see if it reduces my fine lines & wrinkles. Retinyl Retinoate can still cause some skin sensitivity, dryness or redness, so be sure to patch test. It is important to use sunscreen since retinol products increases skin's sensitivity to the sun.

Deep Vita C Ampoule
I really like this Vitamin C as the packaging is in small vials that you use for a week and then toss. This helps ensure that it doesn’t oxidize. Don’t care for the smell but I have repurchased.
Sharonspendstoomuch
I was lucky enough to receive a great Medicube Skincare Routine set in a giveaway through Picky in exchange for my honest review. The set included their Triple Collagen Toner, Deep Vita C Ampoule and Triple Deep Erasing Cream. This review is for the Medicube Deep Vita C Ampoule, which retails on Amazon for $47. ▪️Formulated with 13.5% stabilized Vitamin C, this water-based ampoule gives skin a brighter, more lifted appearance. ▪️Claims to help fade acne scars, freckles, hyperpigmentation & fine lines with visible results in just 7 days ▪️It is certified hypoallergenic & has undergone 12 clinical tests to ensure that it is safe for sensitive skin & brightening effects. ▪️Packed in 3 vials with a dropper, the shielding bottles to keep contents stable & protected from light and oxygen. ▪️Store in the refrigerator to ensure long-lasting freshness of the vitamin C. Key Ingredients: ▪️Ascorbic Acid 135,000ppm (Vitamin C) ▪️Glutathione ▪️Panthenol ▪️Alpha Bisabolol ▪️Terminalia Ferdinandiana fruit Extract (Kakadu Plum) ▪️Camu Camu seed extract ▪️Opuntia Ficus-Indica Extract (Prickly Pear) ▪️Beta-carotene ▪️Beta-glucan Texture: Milky serum with a yellowish tint. Very strong scent (it does fade once absorbed) Packaging: 3 10g/0.35oz dark glass bottles and a dropper My Review: I am always looking for a good Vitamin C Serum with Ascorbic Acid that doesn’t oxidize within a few weeks or irritate my skin. This comes in 3 small dark glass bottles that you can refrigerate, & the small size helps keep product fresh. It is a yellow toned milky serum, somewhat viscous, with a very powerful scent, which is a little off-putting. However, it does dissipate once the Vitamin C is absorbed into the skin. I’ve been using it on alternative nights (I use a Retinol or BHA when I don’t use this). It absorbs quickly & there is no tacky/sticky feeling once applied. The next morning, my skin looks brighter, and skin texture appears smoother. I have not experienced any irritation either, which has been the case in the past with other Ascorbic acid products, so it should work well for those with sensitive skin. I really like this product so far, although I do hate the smell. Pros: ▪️Absorbs quickly with no stickiness ▪️Improves skin tone and skin texture ▪️Non-irritating ▪️Skin appears brighter after only a week ▪️Small dark glass bottles minimizes oxidation

The Retinol 0.5 Serum
I liked this Retinol oil. It spreads easily, doesn’t irritate or burn my skin and I could notice an improvement in skin texture and more elasticity. This also works best if kept refrigerated. I sometimes use it with the Cosrx 0.1 cream as I have used retinol products for several years.
Sharonspendstoomuch
Review: Cosrx The Retinol 0.5 Oil I received this retinol oil along with 2 other products for free through a Try Me Review Me promotion with Stylekorean and Cosrx in exchange for my honest review. This oil contains 0.5% stabilized pure retinol that targets both initial and progressive signs of aging. It targets fine lines/wrinkles, and improves skin texture, elasticity and radiance. Since this is a stronger concentration, it is important to use this oil no more than 3x weekly initially to build tolerance. Key Ingredients: ▪️Retinol 0.5% (Vitamin A) ▪️91% Squalane ▪️Tocotrienol (Super Vitamin E) ▪️Soybean oil Packaging/Texture: 20ml dark tinted bottle with dropper. Must be refrigerated after opening to maintain stability. It is a slightly thick but silky yellowish colored oil with no noticeable scent. PAO is 3months My Experience: I really like this oil, since I have dry skin. I have been using 1-2 drops 3x per week for about 2 weeks in PM only. I tap it onto my forehead, and around my eyes/mouth where I have fine lines. It just sinks into my skin without any greasy feel, and absorbs quickly into my skin. It doesn’t irritate my skin and the next morning my skin appears more plump and feels soft to the touch. Sometimes I use the oil along with the cream on deeper wrinkles on my forehead and between my eyes, but I don’t recommend doing this if you are not an experienced Retinol user or if your skin can’t tolerate it. It is best with this oil to gradually increase usage provided you don’t get any irritation. For me, it is still too early to see all of the benefits but it doesn’t irritate my skin and it absorbs quickly after applying so I can easily layer with other products. I recommend this for more experienced retinol users only. I’ll definitely repurchase this! Don’t forget to use a sunscreen in the daytime with this and any other retinol product.

Mentholatum Melano CC Intensive Anti-Spot Essence
This Japanese Vitamin C also contains vitamin E, plus other anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial ingredients to prevent and treat dark spots or acne-prone skin. The nozzle is quite unique - it dispenses the vitamin C a drop at a time, so easy to control how much you are using. (Plus it keeps it from oxidation). This lasted me almost 1 year (bought it in Japan) and it doesn’t have that funky scent. However I am unsure of the Vitamin C content, but it does seem to work well, reducing hyperpigmentation without any irritation.
