im making this post for the 3rd or so time i think😭 i come on here every few years when i remember i have this app and none of the products ive been recommended work. I am 18 now, i broke out extremely badly when i was 13/14 during covid when everyone had to wear mask. i assume the contact and bacteria plus crazy hormones (i have recently been diagnosed with pcos) resulted in cystic acne from the ages or 13-15. Once masks came off i stopped breaking out as much, but i do often break out around my period, typically along my jawline or cheeks. My problem is that i cannot stop picking to save my life, i have managed to reduce it significantly but i still pop every little spot i see so effective spot patches would be much appreciated. To get into the actual details of my skin - i have loads of scarring on my cheeks and jaw (not much on my forehead). I rarely break out now and when i do i know its because of my period. My skin is very dry and sometimes can be rough/bumpy. my pores sometimes get very large (not sure why). Products ive tried which has been a complete waste of my time: numbuzin - didnt do jackshit; axis y dark spot correcting serum - gave my skin a nice glow and thats it; alpha arbutin and niacinamide from the ordinary I feel like all the popular products r a waste of my time and don’t actually work for me. i think i need something slightly stronger - my skin doesnt seem to be sensitive at all. The type of pigmentation i have is dark, not red pls dont recommend any products targeted for PIE.
