A Guide on HOW and WHEN to Exfoliate For Beginners
Exfoliation, when done correctly, is a key player in achieving healthy, glowing skin. Here's a guide on when and how to use exfoliators in your routine: 1️⃣ Types of Exfoliators: i. Physical Exfoliants: - Contain granules or particles to manually slough off dead skin cells. Some examples are scrubs, brushes, microdermabrasion. ii. Chemical Exfoliants: - Use acids or enzymes to dissolve dead skin cells. Examples are AHAs (glycolic acid, lactic acid), BHAs (salicylic acid), enzymes (papaya, pineapple). 2️⃣ When to Exfoliate (Frequency) ♡ 1-3 times per week for physical exfoliants. ♡ 2-4 times per week for chemical exfoliants, depending on the product's strength. 3️⃣ Time of Day: - Preferably in the evening to allow skin recovery overnight. 4️⃣ How to Use Exfoliators: –Start with a clean face –If you are using a chemical exfoliant apply it to dry, clean skin –Remove makeup and cleanse your skin –Patch test before you exfoliate to ensure how compatible the product is with your skin. –If you are using a physical scrub, apply to damp skin –If you exfoliate too much, you can compromise your skin barrier, leading to skin sensitivity. –Gently massage in circular motions –Follow product instructions, usually avoiding your eye area and the skin next to your nose –Listen to your skin. If you start experiencing redness, irritation, or excessive dryness, reduce the amount of times you exfoliate in a week –Rinse thoroughly –Try to exfoliate less during colder, drier months 5️⃣ Sunscreen is Non-Negotiable: - Applying SPF is especially crucial after using chemical exfoliants because it protects the newly revealed skin from UV damage.

Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution

✨️PRODUCT REVIEW ✨️ This is my review on the Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution About: The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution is a chemical exfoliator that breaks down the “glue” that holds dead skin cells together. Glycolic acid is the smallest and most versatile AHA, meaning that it can penetrate the skin more easily than other AHAs. Glycolic acid helps with rough texture, skin brightening, hyperpigmentation, improves collagen production, smoothens the look of fine lines and wrinkles. My experience I have been using this Glycolic acid toner and its been working wonders for my skin. Glycolic acid has an acidic pH of 3.5-3.7, which caused a tingling sensation on my skin. After using this toner consistently, I’ve noticed that my skin is smoother and has a more even tone. My skin texture is refined, and I have fewer visible blackheads on my nose and improved skin clarity. I didn't experience any tightness, dryness or burns while using this toner. Pros: ✨️It is cruelty free ✨️More affordable than other glycolic toners but provides better/similar results. ✨️Contains great ingredients: Glycolic acid, Tasmanian Pepperberry, Amino Acids, Aloe Vera, Ginseng ✨️It has a light, watery texture. It absorbs easily into my skin when applied with a cotton pad after cleansing. ✨️Great for oily skin types

Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Lotion Exfoliant
ireview
This is simply the best exfoliant you'll probably find in the market. My first time using it and it has done miracles to my acne-prone-blemished oily skin. I wouldn't change anything. It is also affordable, doesn't cost more than $30. I would totally recommend. Note: They recommend to use daily, however, using it daily was sort of "eroding" my skin too much. So I just use it twice or thrice a week, and have amazing results.
