More Recent Picky Reviews
I got to try out more than ten products this last month from Picky. For anyone wondering how I got selected for multiple rounds: I post group reviews to TikTok and Instagram for the campaigns. Then I make individual video reviews for each product to post with each review, which is why I’ve gotten so many rounds. Hope this helps anyone just starting out on Picky! The first two products are probably my favorite from this month. I have plenty more on my profile, including from Anua and Numbuzin if you’re interested in reading those reviews too. 🥰 Thank you Picky!

Maple Energy Infusing Serum
Super fun product! Very similar to the bean essence from Mixsoon, both are vegan snail mucin alternatives (all the fun of the texture without the animal by product of snail mucin). I probably preferred this one more, since it wasn’t quite as sticky feeling in my opinion. It was a little tacky, but if you apply a good moisturizer after, the texture isn’t as noticeable as when used without a cream.

I received this product for free from Picky and Dear, Klairs in exchange for my honest review. I had no idea what to expect with this formula going in. I live in the Pacific Northwest and spent a lot of time camping as a kid, so I know how thick and goopy tree sap can be. I assumed the texture of this serum may be similar to that. One may also believe this from the pictures that I shared. Surprisingly, it wasn’t a heavy texture. It was not thick, heavy, or goopy. Instead it was probably a medium texture, which did an amazing job at hydrating my dry leaning skin immediately upon application. It did leave my skin feeling slightly tacky, but if you pair it with a good moisturizer, the sensation goes away after the moisturizer dries. This is a product that claims you will see a difference in your skin, 30 minutes after application. I did not see a huge difference at that time, but I did see instant hydration as soon as I applied this serum. I love that this is a fragrance free formula. The tree sap is meant to help with the appearance of pores and fine lines, plus it helps your skin barrier with all the hydration that this offers. It does make up the majority of the formula, and one can tell this by the ingredient label. The first listed ingredient is what makes up the most of a product’s formula. So this product is true to its name. As someone with dry leaning and overly sensitive skin, this was a product that easily won me over. I’m a big fan of instantly hydrating products, and can see myself reaching for this often as part of my regular skincare routine.

Rice Whip Facial Cleanser
Another lovely foaming cleanser that didn’t leave my skin feeling tight after use. It’s free of added fragrances as well. Super gentle and safe for the eyes, which is a must for me to love a cleanser.

I received this product for free from Picky and I'M FROM in exchange for my honest review. I’ve enjoyed the other products that I’ve gotten to try out by I’m From. Especially their rice toner which compliments this cleanser so well. This is a fragrance free cleansing option which I tend to prefer in my skincare. As someone with dry leaning skin, I was very impressed that this one didn’t dry me out, unlike most other foaming cleansers that I’ve tried. My skin didn’t feel tight after washing, so this is a great non-stripping option. I was even able to use it on my eye area with no stinging. Plus it worked well at removing my foundation by itself! Although because it is a foaming cleanser, it would also make for a great second step in a double cleansing routine. This one truly hit off a lot of the things I look for in my skincare routine. I definitely keep gravitating back to this one, and have incorporated it into my regular cleansing routine.

Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask
A great clay mask for people who deal with oily skin. You can apply it to problem areas if you have combo skin, and want a targeted treatment. I decided to apply it to my whole face and I was impressed that it didn’t dry out my more dry areas. I can definitely see myself using this just on my tzone in the future. But I was also dealing with some acne on my chin, and always want to see how products do on my different skin types as someone with combo skin. This also features lactic acid, so it’s an exfoliating mask as well. It’s suggested to use 1-2x per week.

I received this product for free from Picky and INNISFREE in exchange for my honest review. This mask is perfect for people looking for sebum/oil control. The clay and Lactic Acid are meant to help with the appearance of pores besides helping reign in oil production. This is a gentle exfoliant which can help treat active pimples. If you have more ‘combination’ skin like I do, then don’t forget that you can use this as a targeted treatment. Meaning you can get away with applying it only to the oily areas (in my case, that’s my nose and forehead or my ‘t-zone’). My combination skin tends to run dry. But I was really impressed by the fact that this clay mask didn’t dry my skin out too much. For the purpose of this review, I made sure to use it everywhere on my face. Sometimes my areas prone to dryness react different from my more oily skin, and I feel like people can benefit from that insight. I think it helped that I set the timer to rinse it off as soon as the ten minutes were up. As you may be able to tell from my video, I did layer on this mask a bit thick. So maybe that kept my skin from drying out too much. Although instructions do say: leave on for ten minutes or until the mask is dry, whichever comes first.

Retinol Volume Lip Serum
This was my first time trying out retinol for your lips. I didn’t see a huge difference when wearing it, and it did make my lips tingle as well. So I could see it being plumping. I didn’t see a difference in my lip lines though (and that’s okay!).
MeaningInMakeup
I received this product for free from Picky and Primera in exchange for my honest review. If you are someone who loves a clear gloss moment, then you’ll probably love this option. Considering this is a lip serum, I was expecting it to be a smoother formula that was less tacky than it felt to me. It features multiple oils in the formula, so I thought it would be more lightweight and smooth like other lip oils I’ve tried as of late. This was on the more thick and goopy side texture wise, but I can handle that. If you have never used a lip retinol before, it is meant to be used every 2-3 days if you have sensitive skin (like I do). Until your skin becomes accustomed to you using this product, then you can eventually use it daily for a plumping product (continued use it is meant to result in fuller looking lips over time). Did I feel like this gave me fuller lips in the two weeks that I tried this? No. This is your reminder that you need to also pair this with a lippie with SPF in your routine, because lips can get sun burned just like the rest of your skin!

Madagascar Centella Soothing Cream
This was a rare Skin1004 product that was average for me. The problem being I also tried a competitor’s soothing cream at the same time that I enjoyed even more. A little goes a long way though, if you like that in a product.
MeaningInMakeup
I received these products for free from Picky and SKIN1004 in exchange for my honest review. The brand is pronounced “skin one oh oh four”, also known as 천사 (cheon-sa) which means Skin Angel. My favorite thing about this product is that fact that there was no strong scent to the product. I also love that a little bit of this product goes a long way. As someone with dry leaning skin, I can definitely say this left my skin moisturized in the morning. I didn’t wake up with any dry patches or flaking, which is usually my basis for saying if something works for dry leaning skin. Key ingredients in this formula include Centella Asiatica/cica, which is fantastic for a damaged skin barrier (so for both people with dry leaning skin or those that deal with acne, and I deal with both), which makes up 72% of the formula according to the ingredients list. It also features glycerin to help your skin maintain moisture. I think because so little of this cream is needed, it could also compliment more oily leaning skin.
