La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 is a must-have for anyone using retinoids, especially during the purging phase. As we go through purging, our skin may develop all sorts of bumps, redness, peeling, and irritation. I personally have struggled with severe acne caused by tretinoin purging, and I've had a love-hate relationship with this cream. I slather it on my skin once a week and also when I need it. Sometimes, I dislike how it's too thick and greasy, and my hair sticks to my face, not to mention it leaves a white cast. However, the morning after, I love how it calms my redness, and my irritation is gone. I didn't observe any effects on my acne, despite claims that it helped minimize it. Nevertheless, this is my go-to cream for rapid skin recovery. Will I buy it again? Yes, as long as I am using tretinoin. I require this for my weekly slugging routine. Normally, I would have to use separate products to get centella, panthenol, bifida ferment extract, and hyaluronic acid in my routine, but this serum has it all. It's truly a one-of-a-kind product that meets all my needs! I have a strong preference for soothing and hydrating products. Given that I use tretinoin, hydroquinone, and kojic acid for lightening my acne marks, I'm aware that my skin barrier could get compromised. This lightweight, watery serum, combined with Niacinamide, provides everything I need. I love waking up to a plump skin every morning! Would I purchase it again? Absolutely! Like nothing happened, literally!!! 😃 The cream's unique consistency, somewhat reminds me of Cosrx Snail Mucin, may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it didn't bother me at all. Now I understand why so many people love Klairs Midnight Blue Recovery Cream! It works miraculously! I'm glad they've switched to a tube; it's more hygienic and prevents the product from getting contaminated, which is the last thing we need when dealing with skin irritation. The cream isn't meant to be used as moisturiser. As per product literature, you only need to apply it on areas that need it. So I only use it sparingly, applying it to my problem spots. I once damaged my skin barrier so badly that it felt hot and painful to the touch! I applied this cream before sleep, and the next day, I couldn't believe what had happened the day before. It's like brand new skin had grown on the surface or something. It's amazing! I also use it whenever I have dry, itchy patches, and when I have rashes on my body. I love this cream, and it's a necessity in my household!
