If it's your first time just use it once or twice a week once your skin adjusts to it. My steps are cleanser, toner (wait for the toner to dry first) Retinol, and then a good moisturizer.
P.S make sure to hydrate your skin and use sunscreen every morning 😊

In addition to the suggestions by @Mindfully, only use at night. Retinol makes your skin more sensitive to the sun so as Mindfully said, wearing sunscreen everyday is really important.

Start slow and from lowest percentage. Use twice a week in the first week, thrice in the next and i would suggest to continue thrice a week for atleast 2 months. Monday retinol, Tuesday free, Wednesday Retinol, Thursday free …. like this
Use hydrating products

Usually Retinals have a higher percentage of retinol in them so build slowly. I use the sandwich method with mine. Light moisturizer, retinal, heavy moisturizer like a Squalane is best.
