Nowadays there are many different types of toner, and each one treats a specific issue. This product should be applied after cleansing, and helps eliminate any dirt/sebum/makeup residue, rebalances the skin's natural acidity, and prepares it for subsequent treatments (essence, serum, moisturizer, etc.). In addition, it hydrates the skin, and depending on the ingredients in its formula, it helps treat a specific problem: in fact it can have anti-aging, purifying, soothing properties, etc. In reality, toner is not an essential step in a skincare routine, but I personally really like using it every day because I see that my skin benefits from it. 😊

A simple routine is actually great. Toners today are more for a boost in your skincare as an additional exfoliation, hydration or soothing step. So you can add one if to address an additional skin concern.

I use my toner after cleansing. It helps close the pores to external pollutants as well as removing any residual dirt on the face. I don't use it all the time in my skincare as I have sensitive skin. Maybe 3 out of 5 days.

Pores don't really open and close. They aren't sphincters. Toners aren't really for "closing pores". They are generally for additional hydration, gentle exfoliation or to balance pH on skin

Toners helps to balance pH of the skin after cleansing while adds hydration. Some toners offers others benefits like exfoliation, brightening, calming, slow aging and more so it depends on what you’re looking for to add in your routine. I personally love using toners so even if it’s not a necessary step in the routine I like to incorporate them.
