Cleansing oil vs balm vs micellar water, does skin type play a significant role?

As of recent, I discovered that not only I have dry skin, I am also prone to acne. Currently, I double cleanse with micellar water but I'm getting blackheads on my cheeks and forehead plus bumps that keeps appearing. I have simplified my routine and also use BHA twice a week. So far it has kept them at bay but the acne does not go away. I figured that micellar water is not cleansing my skin enough. Now I am considering to look for cleansing oils or balms. However, after doing some reading on reviews and websites, it seems that even balms and oils can clog pores. I wonder if skin type matters when choosing a first cleanse product? Would there be an instance where cleansing balm is more recommended to dry skin types? I would love to know your thoughts on this πŸ€” Here are some products so far I've read (allegedly) that does not clog pores and are recommended for dry skin:

Skin type and preference matter. Linoleic acid is thinner than oleic acid. Whereas Oleic acid is thicker and richer. I myself have oily and acne skin and I prefer oils that contain Linoleic acid more than oleic acid. I prefer to use oil if I am not travelling and a balm when I go travelling.

I see! I can understand that lighter oils is easier to wash off and manage. I have seen the elf product mentioned a few times. Do you like the product?

Honestly speaking, I haven’t tried the Elf one lol but I have tried other balms that did not work well with my skin. The elf balm was recommended by my facebook group called Skincare Fanatics because it is affordable and it is found in drugstores and it worked for them but I have to try it for myself then. 😁

I have dry sensitive acne prone skin. The Face Shop cleansing oils definitely clogged my pores and made me break out significantly. I personally prefer using cleansing balms because I find them more gentle on the skin and I don't like the oily feeling that some oil cleansers leave behind on the skin which can potentially clog pores. I highly recommend the Banila Co cleansing balms! It washes off my makeup and sunscreen really well without being stripping. No weird residue too.

I didn't like any kind of micellar water. I have combination skin, but I like oils more. Some oil-based cleansers are especially suitable for oily skin. I still prefer the ones that don't dry. celimax is very suitable for oily skins.

I have seen Celimax mentionee a lot recently. It does say Jojoba tho so I'm scared it might clog my pores πŸ˜… Is it specifically for blackheads?

On the contrary, I can say that it does not clog the pores and helps to remove blackheads. But it dries out my skin a bit. 🀷🏼
