I have never tried chemical exfoliators on my scalp but i tried physical ones. It was kind of a gel shampoo with big sea salt pieces and it helped getting rid of dandruff and oily appereance. My scalp felt refreshed because it contained tea tree oil 😄
You can use a selenium and ketoconazole shampoo for dandruffs and breakouts on scalp it really helps too 🌸

Yes you can use chemical and physical exfoliants for the scalp. In fact, it is a thing now. There are lots of new hair products specifically for exfoliating the scalp available now like scalp scrubs, hair vinegar and shampoos and treatments containing salicylic acid. You can also use your AHA/BHA toners for the scalp too. I've been using the CP-1 Scalp Scaler (Korean brand) which is a physical scrub for the scalp. Great for oily hair/scalps. Lots of Korean and Western brands have their own versions of these products.

I have oily scalp and I have had dandruff while I was in middle school, which also tend to give me scalp bumps and pimples not to mention the cause of my forehead pimples 😪😪😪😪
well back to the question, my mom started applying homemade vinegar dilluted with water having a pH around 4.5, once a week for not more than 30minutes which was followed by oiling my hair the following day. And I no longer get that severe dandruff ever.
Now there are many exfoliating pre-wash packs and shampoos available in the market which has BHA, AHA, or PHA.
Miracle toner by Some by Mi can also be used on the scalp.
The natural pH of the scalp is almost that of your face but the pH of your hair tends to be lower than that of your scalp. Also, the type of hair you have will also contribute to the pH of your scalp and hair.
The more curly your hair is, the lower the pH of your hair is .

I haven’t heard of using AHA & BHA on the scalp, there are physical exfoliaters available specifically for the scalp and clarifying shampoos will help with removing product build up 💗

Yeah, physical exfoliators & clarifying shampoos are becoming more common now. But they say chemical exfoliators are more effective 💜
