Idk why did your dermatologist told you to not use anything beside cleanser and epiduo ^^’ She/he should know that those treatement can be extremely drying for the skin (which can leads to other skin problems...)
Most dermatologist usually recommend to moisturize your skin well!! You can use the “sandwich method” (put a layer of your moisturizer > then a layer of epiduo > then another layer of your moisturizer) or the “blanket method” (use and occlusive cream after epiduo)
Ofc using these method will NOT decrease the effectiveness of epiduo :)
I used to be on adapalene 0.1% gel, and the moisturizers that helped me with the dryness are below ⬇️💖
